BT home hub still playing up, connection seems to be stable for the time being though, first time in about a fortnight - hence my absence.

I am waiting to hear about a job application with Advocacy Alliance (part time) and in the mean time I have taken on more duties at the Citizens Advice Bureau - now a money advice asst. too.

Tried to cram a lot into one post, cos I might not get to make another one for a wee while.

    uhhuh

erm. weird, my homehub works with my laptop, until I plug in the power unit, which is a replacement 3rd party one, then it plays up.

    maybe a co-incidence? hmm.

I'd get that exhaust fixed.. you'll fail the emission test :)

can't BT just give you a new one? or just blame / bill the power company ?

power company, I think I'd struggle to get anywhere

Does the Citizens Advice Bureau offer advice on unsociable neighbors who are noisy and are always burning rubber in the street?...as a tax payer I really don't expect benefits handed out from that taxation to be given to these louts who then literally burn them on tires and routers.

    :p

Oh yeah I remember that, I liked crashing on the xbox version.

    My laptop power pack
    (1) this device may not cause harmful interference.
    (2) this device must accept any interference that may cause undesired operation.

    So glad that's clear anyway.

That text has always bugged me. Doesn't that basically translate as "this device is guaranteed not to break, even if you zap it with radiation that causes it to break"?

i think it probably translates as, we don't really know if this is safe, your laptop might fry
