TOBOR by Elfin

edited November 2004 in Games
Just checking out some titles on the archive pages. My copy of TOBOR by Elfin has a different cover than the one posted, mines green not red and says "for the 48k spectrum" at the bottom not "Elfin", the tape says "Elfin Software 1982". Which is the original release or was it released with two covers

    mmmmm,

well I have the red and the green inlays, one of them is by Elfin (red) and the other is by Add-On Electronics (green, a re-release). The cassette for the Add-On release is not an 'Elfin' one in that it has a red Add-On Electroincs label from 1983. So i guess they either re-released it using old Elfin tapes when Add-On/DK Tronics bought out Elfin or somewhere down the line the cassettes have been mixed up or indeed maybe Elfin released 2 inlays.

The TZX of the tape should sort that out since the Add-On and Elfin tapes have very different blocks and structure.

Tobor had the most long winded introduction of any game. Every time you died you had to watch the same boring bit over again.

Thanks for the info folks. Just noticed mycopy of escape MCP by Rabbit is also completely different to the one in the archive. Mine shows a man in a red suit running from a robot, under escape - mcp it says zx spectrum 16k/48k keys or protek joystick and in the bottom right is an oval with Rabbit RSS 301. Anyone else got this one, is it a re-release ?
