What's left.....

edited May 2011 in Sales
OK.

Thanks to you guys there's not a lot left now

I am, and I'm sure that my late friend would be, delighted that this stuff is going to good homes where it will be loved and used rather than sold on for profit or worse still stuck in a glass case.

So What's left....

I have:
The Speccy that was attached to the Opus and a box sleeve to go with it.
The boxed Opus.
The boxed Genius Mouse with its interface and an art programme and holster.
A Datel switched joystick interface.
A Multi Print interface.
A Multiface 128.
A flexible ribon cable to connect the Speccy to the Opus without the associated 'drop-out' /bad connection problems.

Here it is.:

I'm not out for a fortune but I don't want to 'give' it away at a silly price because that isn't fair to everybody else who doesn't get it.

I've been watching eB@y to try to evaluate the Opus without too much success.

Firstly, they don't often crop up, does that mean they are rare?:-?:-?

There are a couple on with asking prices of two or three hundred quid; does that mean that they are extremely rare?:-?:-?

But they're not selling, so is that too much or do people just not want them?:-?:-?

One member, who already has one so it wasn't an offer, sugested that I should get around ?75 for it. Perhaps other members would confirm or dispute this.

As for the MF128. The last one sold for ?20 but that was with a box and instructions so I suppose mine is worth about a tenner.

Sorry to be a little vague but the very reason for joining the forum was because I just don't understand this stuff.

I haven't got a clue how it works; It could have an elastic band or a little man with a pencil inside for all I know.

I've had a massive amount of help from members to sort and identify which I'm really greatful for but there are a couple of things I'm still stuck on.

I'd take a punt and say bundle what's left, ebay it at ?100 and expect to reach twice that. That's pretty much what I'd do.

That's confirmed my theory; I had a PM last night for a price for everything and I 'worked it out' (eB@y based) to about ?190 + p&p.

So I said ?175 inc p&p would get it.

I've not heard back yet so I don't know whether he has either not recovered from the shock or he is rooting down the back of the soffa to find the funds.

As I said yesterday, ?50 is a bit too much for the mouse package (for me) - if it was about ?25 cheaper, then I would buy it, assuming it would work in conjunction with my DivIDE + interface.

But I am a serious Speccy user.. (as well as a collector)

I have no idea whether it would work with your system and for that reason I can fully understand your reluctance to over spend.

I really think that if I were to let it go to you for ?25 I'd have a stream of members having a go at me for not letting them have it.

I had a similar situation on another forum where I let stuff go for the first offer and my name was mud because members were saying they wanted it and might have paid more.

I was just trying to be straight and fair.

I think if this remaining stuff isn't 'claimed' by Sunday I might stick it on eB@y. It's a free listing weekend so that helps because you can put a sensible starting price without it costing you.:-)

just put it on ebay , less hassle and legally binding.. I get fed up of fishing trips and tire kickers on here..

and for certain people who say the wanna buy stuff then vanish .. no names but you know who you are..

As I said before, I've had to major spend on household items (f*****g tumble dryer packing up).

I'm not one to curse people because they let their stuff go to the highest bidder - I'm all for Speccy (and CPC/C64 and other collectors) being able to buy the stuff and get good uses out of it.

Now that I understand what I have got (thanks totaly to members of the forum) I know how to list it properly so that it is found by the people who are interested in it.

And make sure you spell everything right otherwise people might miss it or get a real bargain..

Am I allowed to post links to my own eB@y items on the forum?

A lot of people have posted links to their ebay auctions without getting into trouble.

    Hi reanimator.
I've heard back from the guy who was interested in it all but he's droped out
    So; Your next in line.

I've had a few comments about dealing in PM's perhaps not being fair to others who might have an interest.

So from now on I think we should all talk openly.

If you want the Opus and the 128 for ?85 + p&p unless somebody shouts louder before say midday tomorow, it's yours if you want it.

The unit weighs in at about 4.5Kg and so is going to cost about ?10 to send (could be a bit more but I'll stand the difference).
