I can't imagine there being many wrestling fans on WOS, but I'm actually quite upset about this. Randy Savage was a legend. A little part of my childhood has gone.

I remember him more from the early Wrestlemania games and stuff than actually watching him on TV, a guy I work with likes wrestling, he'll probably be gutted about it?

If he'd been in Doctor Who he might have had a shred of talent...

....and I'm not a Doctor Who fan.

If that were true, Sylvester McCoy would never have been born.

I'm fairly certain that Macho Man Randy Savage played Bonesaw in the Spider-Man film released around 2002.

    Regards,

    Shaun.

    :-o:sad:

********. I never really liked him as a wrestler but he was one of the decent guys.

I still remember the storyline from 91/92 with Ric Flair and him fighting over Elizabeth (who died a few years ago from drugs iirc).

He was a great character. He seemed to have patched up some differences with Vince recently aswell which would have been cool seeing him do stuff for WWE again.

And yes, I still watch wrestling now. And I even subscribe to an rss feed for wrestling news
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

Nah, she was with him, but it was an overdose of alcohol and prescription drugs.

Yup. As is the case with so many wrestlers, although Brian Pillman is the only other one I can think of at the moment. Oh wait, Umaga, Hawk (Legion of Doom) and Curt Hennig (Mr Perfect) I think.

There are that many drug related deaths I can't remember which ones are drink related or heart attacks.

IIRC Lex Luger had a spinal stroke a few years ago and he was in pretty bad shape. Last I heard he was walking on crutches but it took him half an hour to walk somewhere that should only take about 10 minutes.

I'm kind of a wrestling fan. I like to read about it more than actually watch it (although I am enjoying TNA because it's on Freeview). I think this is a great loss to wrestling. OK, so he's not done much in years, but he was slowly starting to build bridges (his DVD and action figures etc) with the WWE and may have one day returned in one form or another.

Plus, his eventual Hall of Fame induction speech would have been something for the ages.

    A real loss :(

I was pretty gutted when I heard about this on Friday 'cos Savage was my favourite of the 1980's/early 1990's guys. :(

I'm a massive pro wrestling fan, have been for years, even though the TV shows aren't anywhere near as good as they used to be anymore. Always sad to hear about somebody who entertained me for many years passing away before his time :(

Eddie Guerrero? One of the biggest stars of the last 20 years. Died of heart faliure, aged 38. He was also completely drug and alcohol free at the time, and at peak physical fitness although past abuse may well have contributed.

That's true. He had the stroke back in 2007 but he said in an interview last year that he's able to walk and drve around a lot more comfortably now. Pretty sure he won't be wrestling again though.
