Slicks (Codemasters) for the ZX Spectrum?
If you were like me, you also owned Commodore 64 back in the days, because of the games like Slicks - multidirectional smooth scrolling "Pit & Run / Micro Machines" kind of videogame - lovely small formula racing game with lots of fun and great playability. (IMO a better game than any Micro Machines just because of the fact you are not racing with nerdy toys on a messy breakfast table but rather with real F1 on true racing tracks...)

I was just wondering if there is any chance to see the Spectrum version, which apparently was published too by Codemasters!

rich parents?
Or maybe knew somebody who had a truck, a truck that things regularly fell off the back of? :D
C64 owners had parents that were either rich or thieves (or both)?
that explains a lot!
generous and clever.
The rich parents bought their kids BBCs. The ones who didn't know better bought Amstrads.
If they loved them very very much, they bought Speccies.
But surely no one actually bought a C64 did they? Why?
(hence why I didn't own a bbc micro ;) )
on the same token I bet loads of you got amiga's when they came out ..rich parents still ? ;-)
pretty sure slicks was an "ash & dave" (famous c64 demo sceners) original much like kamikaze for codemasters and ported to speccy...
they also did hot rod for activision (and apparently the c64 melbourne house port of double dragon )
but their best game (for me) is gaplus for mastertronic :D easily a zzap sizzler, except the reviewers were tw*ts (much like when crash reviewed Green beret , to name one)
I list a lot of codemaster games on ebay, but not slicks alas (can't recall if i have it for myself, think I do though)
sadly yes, I bought an Amiga in 1987 with my first pay packet!
Didn't last long with it though, changed to the NES and then Megadrive which were much much more fun!
In fact, the looking back, the only games I loved on the Amiga were Monkey Island 1 and 2.
Plus, the music on the Amiga version was the best
