    Nice one Steve :)

Great content, and I like the layout (never seen a bottom to top `loading` logo before.. )

I wanted Pro-Dos for the SAM at the time but couldn`t afford it, we used to use CP/M at high school on the pcw`s, and I always wanted to get `stuck into` it so to speak...

A few months ago I came across a site with Gary Kildalls source code for the original versions from the 70`s, looked really interesting... and as it was a one man job it makes this OS all the more special... I`ll try and find the site again.

Nice that you`ve got the SAM manual mostly done and ready for download, you`ve no idea how many people have asked me where they can get it... You`ve just resolved a major obstacle in people being able to `actively` use or code the SAM, and Sim Coupe :)

If anyone wants a real SAM Coupe then I got an email today from someone selling theirs (Gary I think)... with a link to ebay, which sadly I can`t use, and mines bust too :(

    here`s the link anyhow :-

Yeah, I think so, I shouldn`t assume actually that`s it`s the PSU, it just makes sense that it is, as I don`t get jack sh*t from the computer...

To be honest even after I packed the SAM up for a few years in the 90`s I left the PSU out, and it got filthy, and wires pulled etc etc, so it even looks a bit of a state, although it was working last year...

That`s the main reason I haven`t sent it to you for fixing... although as well, I really want to buy another SAM, just to be `safe` in 10/20/30 years time... you know how it is :)

No joy on the Driver front yet, I know your busy... but I cried all day yesterday, heehe *_+

Soz for not replying yet about Mayhem accelerator, Im bad at emailing... for now I`ll say it`s the best news I`ve heard in the last 5 years... `cept for when this little brunette said yes.

    Well done...

I know you two are waiting for your orders to arrive - after getting back from the show on Monday (I spent the whole weekend in Norwich) things have been so hectic.

CKay - your magazines and order is all packaged up, and to go off in the post tommorrow.

SPT - waiting for one small part to arrive that I thought I had plenty of. I'll also be including an issue of Sam Revival to give you something to read to say thanks for your patience as I did say at the show I would hope it to get it sent out around Wednesday / Thursday.

Well, that would still probably be the most logical thing to check over first. Two PSU's I've seen in the past had broken wires inside - they really are naff power supplies!

Well yes, I know how it is, I have a few Sam Coupe's safely tucked away in my own collection to be on the safe side.

However, just about everything inside the Sam is still repairable (bar the main ASIC chip, which I've not seen fail yet in the repairs I've undertaken). It may be of interest to other people out there with broken Sam's is that I do offer a repair service for the Sam Coupe and associated interfaces, and I do keep stocks of all the parts inside the Sam, including the obsolete SAA1099 soundchip which I was able to track down unused stock of earlier this year.

I`ll get the power supply hunted out sometime soon in that case...

Seen as your working on the acceralator, would it be possible to make an accelerator for the Spectrum... I don`t mean would you be interested in making/designing one, but rather, would it be technically feasable?

About the mags/Driver, sorry, Im a bit impatient at times, far too excitable :)

I doubt Colin would look at a Spectrum accelerator... :)

Heh - nice one :) Is that in Mode 4? Or in Speccy-like Mode 1?

Just thought maybe stealing the Miner Willy graphics from the Sam version of Manic Miner might give it a bit more personality.

Mode 1 .... now that's cheating to create a Sam port.

Heh, you think I was gonna spend time redrawing graphics for *that* game?!
  • edited November 2004
How dare you slag it off, Sir... It`s bloomin marvelous, bloomin addictive... :)

So is it SAM code, port in MOde 1..

Or spec version, running in mode 1.

Can`t see no emulation files, just the auto booting file.

Yep - I think it's actually quite an awesome game. Kind of like Jumping Jack meets Space Invaders meets jumping over spears on the later levels. Look forward to any more Sam stuff Woody.
