The only thing missing from the set is the confidential episodes. You get 2 monster files and that's it :(
I'm waiting for the complete box set before Christmas which will undoubtedly include the cut-down Confidentials (which have, to be honest, been pretty naff this series) as well as other extras. Hopefully commentary tracks. Hopefully for each episode this time.
I've misunderpreted it then. I thought... (spoilers).
...this was a pre-eccleston generation from the Time War who hadn't been referenced yet and did something decidedly un-doctorish.
Very good episode I thought.
Yeah, I'm with you - it's not completely explicit but it seemed more like he was a past incarnation than a future one. So maybe between McGann and Eccleston, like you say, or even pre-Hartnell, in theory at least.

Nope - Clara has seen all the doctors (even though he is trying to erase himself) and she stated he is the 11th dr. This was put in because of people online saying it would ruin the show if he turned out to be an earlier dr.

Quite rightly, Moffat couldn't give a monkeys about what people online say would ruin the show. My take on the conversation was that it was an earlier incarnation that didn't disgraced the name so much he no longer deserved to be counted. I'd rather it was past, than future, as I'd question where were all the other future Doctors.
We'll soon see in November either way. I imagine The Sun will do their best to ruin it for everyone before then, as well.

She's been in every point of his life since he stole the tardis - she would know if there was another dr because he wouldn't be able to hide it. It has to be a future dr.

If it was a future incarnation then how would the current Doctor know about him?
Bit of a rhetorical question as you can make up any argument to support it either way, thanks to the timey wimey make up anything you like nature of the show. It'll be interesting to see what Moffat has decided in November.
I don't mind either way. Hope he makes it the 53rd Doctor and officially stop all the "only regenerate twelve times" nonsense. :) [The Valeyard was crap and hopefully the events of the time war eradicated his very possibility]

The Great Intelligence mentioned The Valeyard as one of the names the Doctor will be known as during "The Name of the Doctor" so that puts paid to that little theory.
John Hurt is either, as Strident says, playing an earlier (pre-Hartnell?) incarnation of the Doctor who isn't counted because of what he did or it's the Valeyard and Moffat mentioning the same in the script was a way of seeding the character for newer viewers (Moff often seeds ideas with one-off mentions in earlier scripts - the Byzantium and suchlike). If it's the latter then it might mean, as I'd hoped, that the 50th anniversary special will take the Wrath of Khan route of tying into a previous classic series story.

I agree - would be an excellent choice (but unlikely as not quite got the appeal for the teens!)

So no, he will not be the new Doctor (particularly as Matt Smith has confirmed he is doing the next series), but is a version of the Doctor...
Good episode though - one for the fans. Hopefully the 50th Anniversary show will be even better.
screw the teens!!!
obviously a bbc exec would never be caught saying that :D

I look forward to finding out for sure in November. I love this behind the scenes chat between David Tennant and Matt Smith:
