well i definitely remember asking a technical question somewhere else on this website. so that would make me intelligent because i thought about something other than knickers for 5 seconds - doesn't it?

In all seriousness, no we are not too techy, we have a mix of all sorts in here. I do techy for my day job, WOS is my release from that.
Look at some of the historical threads in chit chat, also look at the threads started by me they tend to be longuns that are mostly non techy, but full of laughs.
I think it's good to have a balance between techy and non techy people. If i get stuck on a PC / technical issue then theres someone who can offer a solution.
I'm one of the thickies on WOS, and unashamedly so, as it tends to be the techy people who are are patronising, rude and sometimes very unpleasant. Certainly not all of them, of course (you won't see anything bad from AOwen, JMK, Mr Anonymous, Skoolkid etc), but it does surprise me how some really intelligent people can be so short on patience or grace when dealing with people who obviously mean well towards them.
It's strange because on most forums that I visit it's trolls (traditionally unintelligent, and giving nothing of value to the relevant scene) who are anti-social and/or partonising or insulting, but on WOS it sometimes (not always) is led by someone who is both intelligent (and recognised as such) and has done good things for the Spectrum scene.
Then again, I've never understood human nature. Maybe there's an underlying logic here that I just can't see.

begs me to ask.. whats casual then?
it's not like games are released 2-5 a week any more..
people have different interest in the machine.. either for gaming / coding / drawing / making music etc etc.
