Vertically Scrolling Shoot-em-ups

edited November 2004 in Games
Hi everyone,

I want to put together a list of vertical scrolling shoot-em-ups. I have most of the well known ones (see list) on it already, but i'm sure there are loads more that I have never heard of. Could members suggest any titles (good or bad) to add to the list.

Many Thanks

Derek

Light Force
Flying Shark
Xenon
Xarax
Xevious
Slap Fight
Star Pilot
Terra Cresta
Terra Cognita
Hades Nebula
Moonstrike
Marauder
Stainless Steel
War
Sabotage

Some others I can think of:

    1) Xecutor
    2) Delta Wing
    3) Moon Cresta (even though it uses a pseudo-3d view).
    4) Xcel
    5) 1942

Moon Cresta using a pseudo 3D display? I thought it was Ad Astra that did that, not Moon Cresta.

    Does Spy Hunter qualify?

Also there was a game similar to spyhunter in that you started as a bike then gathered bonuses and transformed into a car and finally into a flying thingamajig.

    Was it called Action Force?

edit: turbo girl from the top 100 (different game from the above description).

That would be Action Fighter from Firebird.

Not sure which of these count, but they're all vertically scrolling shooters of a sort:

    Ikari Warriors
    Commando
    Megablast
Dead or Alive (the Cronosoft version)
