OT: Get Dexter (Amstrad CPC)

edited January 2005 in Sinclair Miscellaneous
I have downloaded Get Dexter (otherwise known as Craxton and Xunk) for the Amstrad CPC, and it looks brilliant, but I'm not sure how to play it. By trial and error I've discovered the following keys:

[Cursors] Move
Jump
[Space] Pick up object
[D] Drop
[R] Call Xunk
[P] Pull object

[P] Pause
[ESC] Quit

Can anyone tell me if there are any more keys I should know about. Also, what is the object of the game (I can't find instructions anywhere)?

Finally, I've also downloaded Get Dexter 2 (for the CPC, again) - does this play differently to the first, or have any new keys, etc?

Thanks for any answers.

Some months ago I did ask about platform games and about Get Dexter (though not about other 3D isometric games) on CPC boards and the newsgroup. I received numerous suggestions for platform games (every one of which was also on the Speccy...) and no info at all about Get Dexter.

Recently I downloaded a CPC emulator for the XBox, whch made me wonder what good CPC games there were, though the few I tried were dissapointing, other than Get Dexter, so I thought I'd post here. After all, many of us have owned more than one 8-bit machine, and this board is more accessible than most.

I wonder why Get Dexter was never ported to the Spectrum?

Did the Spectrum have few users in France? Get Dexter is a French game, so maybe thats the reason.

I'm fairly sure the only other system it came out for was the Atari ST.

ERE Informatique released quite a few Amstrad only games. Doomsday Blues and Pacific amongst them...
