    Make Tea not War!

Sun tea, does what it says on the jar, makes tea from the rays of the sun. It's quite good. Apparently this jar is from the 1970's (though the tea isn't :) ) when things like this were once fashionable.

The wifes grandad has a solar oven, it was $300, but it paid for itself pretty quickly. It doesn't even need to be a hot day to use it. It only really seems any good for things like stews and casseroles, but oldies love eating that kind of stuff anyway.

As for what's in me cup...Corona.

Almost as strong as Icehouse, but a light beer.

so if you served a pie in a cup it would become a drink?

    I think I get ya....

Sooooooo drink beer from a plate and it no longer counts as "drinking" but instead would constitute a romantic "dinner".....son I think you've struck on something genius there.....Feb 14th will now be known as Praise Mile Day if this one works out

Now..... to convince the wench.. ;)

I promised the missus I wouldn't drink until after her B'Day, but she's asleep now and I was feeling like I wanted a booze.

I don't have any beer but there was some bourbon, I hate whiskey in general, and I didn't want to mix it with anything with caffeine in it so I'm now drinkng a Pale rider (Or Appalachian Spike depending on where you're from?).

Whiskey and apple juice, it's not bad, but it's better when somebody who knows how to make one off the bat does it for you, I think I put too much booze, and not enough apple :D

Drinking one of these right now, it's actually quite nice even though it's 7.9%, and usually lets face it strong beer tastes like crap.

This stuff really surprised me though you can actually feel it washing over your tastebuds, and even though you can taste it's strong the alchohol isn't intrusive (best word I can think of to describe it?).

    .

    :-o

No way man - strong beer can be the best by miles

Check out some of the Belgium ones - they'll all be over 6% but they taste great

Rochfort 10 is my fave, loads of flavour.....one to sip not guzzle though ;)

Chimay, Duval and Orval are all worth a look too but skip the novelty beer Kwak....yes it comes in a funny glass but it's tastes rubbish

If you're going to mention Kwak might as well throw Student, and Delirium Tremens out there, I think Delirium Tremens even has a cute pink elephant on the bottle.

But yes Kwak does taste rather nasty, me and a mate got a few bottles of it one time at a bar back home (which is now long gone), needless to say it was the one and only time I ever drank it.

    Just drank one of these!

    DundeePilsner400.jpg

    Now drinking one of these!

    DundeePaleAle.jpg

and I have these 2 to try as well

    DundeeKolsch400.jpg

    dundee_pale_bock_lager.jpg

I got a Dundee craft beer sample pack from work, it was on special all week and was staring me in the face all week. So I folded and decided to buy the bugger while it was on special as it was almost $4 cheaper than it usually is. It's pretty low priced next to other craft beers, but I must say so far I'm impressed The Pilsner tastes really good. It tastes as nice as an expensive non-alchoholic beer (which strangley enough do exist here in the states, none of this Kalibur sh*te ), but it has the something that's missing from the NA....alchohol

The Pale Ale to me tastes quite strong for a Pale Ale actually, and drinking these 2 beers on top of 2 Rolling Rocks I'm actually starting to feel a little pissed :D

Not sure that's a good thing as I have to work 1 nightshift tomorrow because none all the 3rd shift people have already been scheduled, and the chick that usually hangs tags has been off all week. So I'm hanging tags tomorrow night, I'll have to remember me mp3 player so I can ignore every c**t else in the building :D

Anyway the sample pack had 3 of each of the 4 beers pic'd upside teh post, and so far I'm quite impressed, much nicer than I expected them to be. Once I've sampled one of each it's back to the Rolling Rock, and a bad hangover no doubt :D

    Water!

Got another one of those Dundee sampler packs last night with 4 different beers in to the ones from the other night.

That stuff is really quite strong, and after literally meaning to only sample one of each I somehow inadvertantly ended up sampling 2 of each. Most of them are quite dark and heavy, and after downing 8 of the buggers I have a little itty bitty touch of a hangover.

No beer today though, as I have the early shift at work tommorw, not as bad as usual I have to get up at about 8 instead of 6 in the morning.

A Bailey's and milk, because my wife accidently smashed the bottle of Whisky I had.

Still as a consolation, she'll be buying me a pack of my favourite beer.

thanks, there is no point to get cheap rioja

Actually, there is. You get cheap rioja if you're going to be making kalimotxo. (The elixir of the gods. Sort of).

Speaking of Rioja (Red wine variety), here's my yesterday's choice:

Winston, have you tasted Tinto de Verano? Similar (and simpler) to Sangr?a, perfect for the hot summer. In fact, one of the most important philosophical doubts here in summer is whether to drink beer or tinto de verano. Hard choice. :p

    Got another Dundee Sampler Pack.

Now drinking a bottle of IPA, already swigged an "English Ale" (not entirely sure what's so English about it?), and a Porter which seemed nice the last time, but wasn't so good this time.

Haven't had a beer in ages ... think last year was the last time I had one (only had a few of them spaced over all of last year too!) ... haven't had any wine (red, as I don't like white) in ca. three years either. Put the yellow mexican death-drink away a few years back too ... and I'm so glad I don't even remember the name of it either ... funny enough I do still recall the taste of it on my tongue! (no kidding either!)

I had to look that up, well yer if your gonna trash wine like that, a crap one will do hehe

elixir ? nah ... I like an untouched rioja or single malt (but have that rarely) .. I'm partial to JD .. and excess scrabble's make perfect coasters. it's the easy option to an xmas gift for me.

    jd-scrabble.jpg

(that was last year xmas when they were on offer.. all gone now.. sadly can't say the same for the scrabbles)

Haha! I remember when you first posted that pic.

If I brought home 6 bottles of JD I think Mrs Boozy would boot me in the nads.

Or at least she'd want a damn good explaination, she gets annoyed if I bring home a 12 pack of beer more than twice a week.

Guess that explains why she's always in a mood with me then?
