"that's just right wing propaganda, not crime drama"

Its just a silly show, about a big fast helicopter.

    You're probably correct, I don't know.

Jan Hammer's theme music is glorious!

Sure is and he wrote the Airwolf theme too. Shame he never came back to assist in the creation of the Miami Vice movie a couple of years ago.

"Sure is and he wrote the Airwolf theme too."

You might be thinking of Jan-Michael-Vincent, who played Stringfellow Hawk in the show.

or am I confused, otherwise boozy's first comment about bergerac makes no sense...

yeah, they do have a similar rambling style. ;)

and they have both got dm at the start of their name

boozefreek's first comment it that he was "only joking about bergerac". so that must mean he made the poll?

maybe Jessica Fletcher can solve this mystery

As the video title correctly states: "Best opening theme ever!", therefore the poll is very, very wrong! ;)

    I have to second that!

Could have sworn it was Jan Hammer but just checked and apparently it was written by Sylvester Levay.

Ah well, still a cracking tune.

No DM Boozefreak, and myself are two different people. I had suggested this poll in another thread where he commented about Bergerac. Someone delete the other thread if possible, and this one too. I knew this was a bad idea.

    ah right, gotcha..

keep this thread though, it's the best crime related drama theme music poll I've seen on here in weeks

Yes I can confirm that I'm a very different dm :D

dmsmith mate I wouldn't feel bad about this thread, believe me people have started much worse/stranger polls than this one :)

Actually for the Chit Chat section this poll is quite normal

I hope the mods keep it ... it's a fun read and funny ... and I don't mean that in a bad way towards our very own Dungeon Master Schmidt either ... he/she/it has been here long enough to know better than to take our BS the wrong way ... right?

I like this thread ... I might start my own, with a poll asking "Did you like dmsmith's thread as much as I did?" ... and the 100 options I would set up would be "yes, of course!" ... and any variation of "Absolutely!"

I say keep it, we're learning a lot from this conversation ... well, aside from the crummy poll options! icon14.gif

It's the only crime related drama theme music poll there has been on here in weeks, and thats about often enough

    ...Dungeon Master Schmidt...

    Moi?:-o

    No those are my initials!

The reason I thinks now it was a bad idea (and indeed when I was putting it together) is that its rather difficult to separate the theme music from the opening visuals sequence. For instance does Miami Vice get votes for its music alone (which I don't deny is rather good), or for its whole mix of visuals and music? Or for two girls walking off in bikinis? Same for all of them, really. Except Juliet Bravo which didn't have a flashy opening. But I am very disappointed no one has voted for Skippy!

Hooked on Waking the Dead (I guess that counts as Crime Drama) and been watching two two-parters every night for days now, so the theme tune is so embedded I can't actually recall any other music being made by anybody else ever. And it's a bit creepy too... Ahem...

Goodness me, I just popped on here to say, Waking the Dead. Silent Witness has a haunting theme too.

Quote: "Little Timmy being stuck down the well is hardly a crime "

True, but I think they did foil some thieves in a few episodes; though not quite in the manner of Regan and Carter (in the Sweeney, not the former US presidents) I admit.;)

As a kid I never knew why The Sweeney was called The Sweeney.
