Can anyone recommend website builder software
I need some software that is simple to use ie u can drag photos from your hard drive and place them on your web page, needs no programming knowledge and gives professional results. I know its a tall order but anyone got any suggestions and if you have could u tell me the web address of a site using your suggested software THX in advance.

You want professional results: do some work.
ive done a few sites from absolutely zero knowledge / experience.
i just sat in front of a blank screen till i created a website.
it could be even better and professional looking too if i did more work on the graphical design side of it :p
Just do a general search for: html tutorial img src' on google to get you started.
Failing that - http://fslactivities.sd61.bc.ca/ezHTMLarea/ if ya really lazy.

The end results can look good if you put a bit of time in on your design, but the HTML code generated by Fusion is far, far from optimised and often overbloats the file size of your web pages by several times. Good HTML coders therefore often look at the source code to a NOF generated page and find it difficult to express their dismay in before-the-watershed language. So it's a compromise. It saves me heaps of time in generating the pages in the first place, but the browser pays by having to wait longer for the thing to load on their computer.

To be honest, you get what you pay for usually in terms of quality.
As a last resort and depending on your budget, maybe try using a web-design company to do one for you like www.designbysilverside.co.uk who I use for some of our work if I need to and they offer a top service, but this is only if you intend to get your monies worth out of it.
All the best with it whatever you choose.
If I'm working with lots of tables, I generally use Frontpage to draw the tables, but then need to get rid of the double quotes so I can put the tables into PHP.
A lot of the work I get is already designed and needs converting to PHP or ASP anyway, but I gather from the code I get that Dreamweaver is very popular.
And get a Mac (of course).

though being a developer the majority of my coding is done by hand using dreamweaver mx.
The reason I use dreamweaver to hand code is because it has php error checking built in and allows you to very quickly spot syntax errors as they stand out like a sore thumb!
I hate to sound like a right dufus, but 'fogartylee', why remove the double quotes before using your tables in php, you are invalidating your html output. I use php for all my websites and never remove double quotes from any code. I hope you dont think im being rude but if there is a way i could save you some time with some advice, i would be happy to chat to you on msn or somthing!
All the best

Did any of that make sense? I just re-read it and confused myself!
and not a double quote in sight

he might just want a nice picture of a sloth on his site
There are FOUR ways of outputting HTML you know - and it's always foolproof to construct things thusly:
<?php
// My code
?>
<html>
<?php
// More code
?>
*heads to his shed to chill his head, ted*
What a line :)
Can I pinch it for my Sig?
Or rather, can I have sole distribution rights to use it with credits?
Go on... puff puff giiiiive !
and no reverse engineering or dissassembly :)

Yes i was slightly confused by that.
What i was trying to say is I echo html as follows and do not receive parse errors:
my prefered way to output html code is not to use the echo statement and escape php all together like this for example:
<? if(isset($whatevervar)) { ?> <p align="center">Some Html Code</p> <? } else { ?> <p align="center">Some Other Html Code</p> <? } ?>Sorry to stick my nose in!

*gets parched*
*cries*
wheres the shed talk gone?
As 95% of my coding is done with notepad its more convenient for me to do things this way.
Its interesting about validating HTML though. If you don't have frontpage or Dreamweaver in the html as the authoring tool, it will fail html validating anyway. Check the BBC website through it and it will fail with loads of errors, as will most large companies. Basically, html validation is crap. *prepares for custard pies in the face*
When frontpage first came out, I did one of my first sites & went to some forum and asked for opinions (can't remember which one) and everyone on there took the piss cos I was using Frontpage. Even now, I still see on forums where 'experts' will rip the piss out of people using Frontpage. My opinion is that if it works for you, and does what you want it to, there is no reason not to use it.
At the end of the day, everyone has to start somewhere.
Its good to know there are some people here that can use php though - you never know when I'll be begging for help! Took me 3 days to get bloody WorldPay to work!
