Streaker - a few questions

edited September 2011 in Games
Howdy,

Streaker by Bulldog on Mastertronic, a game that looks like I can definitely complete it.
I know there's a solution out there but I don't want to read it as I want to work it out for myself so please don't give spoiler solutions in response.
However, I do need a couple of hints.
The thief descriptions are mildly, but not greatly, cryptic. Once I have the objects that I think the thieves want, I see I can GIVE TO THIEF in the menu. How do I know they're happy with what I've given them? Do they disappear or just leave me alone when I walk past? Is there any visual clue?
Also, how do I reclaim a stolen item of clothing? Is it impossible or do they let me take it once I've given them all the objects hinted at in their description?
What if they need an object that's behind a door I can't get to as they've stolen the clothes I need to get in? Do I have to start the game again?

Cheers!

A happy thief won't steal your clothes, You can take your items back from them when you're carrying something they want or when they have everything that will make them happy (but then again if they have everything they won't steal from you, you can also I think to stop them stealing from you if you haven't given them everything they want, fill up the rest of their inventory with red herrings, so they can't carry any more stuff).

As for starting the game again it is a possibility, but I think you can get at least one item to trade with a thief without having to look too far. Faust is probably the easiest thief to start dealing with.

It's been a few years since I played it. I can remember a few items you can give to certain thieves if you like? But you did say no spoilers :D

I loved this game and used to spend hours playing it. I never completed it though. I did manage to get enought clothes to be able to get into most areas, but it's been so long since I was any good at it, that I can't remember what to do :(

It's a good game and I'm pleased to see that people are still playing it :)

Thanks, I think I have enough to go on now.
What do you need to do when you've got all your clothes? Recover your briefcase? Exit a certain screen? Or does it automatically finish when you've got the clothes?
Please do NOT tell me which items to give each thief, cheers.

To finish the game I think you have to be in a certain place at a certain time, the clock actually does play a very important part in this game. An early form of realtime in effect the way it actually plays out.

I can't really tell you any more without giving too much away.

I still like the fact that some places in Streaker will let you in if you're wearing a vest but no pants.

That's a good point. Some places are only open at certain times of the day. You can't go into the nightclub in the afternoon for example.

this map is very helpful with times etc, but I'll put the link in a spoiler because I have a feeling that it gives the last room/ending away...
  • Hmmm, I've seen this game mentioned on WoS a few times but never played it. Seems to have quite a bit going for it and it's different from the norm.

Think I'll give it a go...

It's a nice little arcade adventure and probably one of my faves, used to play it loads when I was about 9 or 10 years old, and still revisit it from time to time.

Defo worth the 2 quid it cost me, and probably one of the few Speccy tapes I kept.
