What new forum look? So what are the changes? I see the Jelsoft copywrite message has now changed, what else?

:evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:Something that's a bit confusing (ok, not really) is the Post Icons thingie ... you click whichever icon and you don't get a checkmark next to whichever icon you choose ... have to look at the top near the Title.

And when you choose which threads to subscribe to the colour is too bland (at least on this 'puter) so I can't easily distinguish between chosen threads vs non-chosen.

If Martijn is going to change the forum design then he should do it in grande style and move away from the commodore-eque blues we have now. Though they look great I do admit.

What about this? I know I knocked it up in a few mins, its not that nice but meant to provoke discussion.

Hmmm ... actually people ... could you please tell me if you are getting ANY radio buttons ... in particular like when you do a SEARCH ...

"Show Results As" doesn't indicate one way or the other if anything has been selected due to the lack of radio buttons and in this case there is no colour change.

Hmmm ... I now notice that the radio buttons seem to still exist (to a point) at least under the Search fold-down flap -> Show Threads and Show Posts ... there are no radio buttons but next to either choice the icon does change to a finger (i.e. indicating a radio button).

Is this just something happening on my end?

    lolwut?

No change has been made in the past couple of, ehm, years and none are planned...

I'd be gutted if WOS ever changed it's appearance. I love it just the way it is. In this mad, sinister, ever changing world, it's nice to have something thats stayed (more or less) the same over the years.

Agreed but it would be nice if we put some lights up at Christmas and had a snow covered spectrum at the top maybe even a little tree.

    ZnorXman - I think it's just you! :)
I was a bit worried when I saw the thread as I've not been here for a few days but I can't see any difference and, as Martijn says, he's not made any changes. Have you switched browser/operating system/medication recently?

Scottie_uk - OK... so I know it's just to provoke discussion but "no, thanks" to that colour scheme. I can hardly read the text on the dark grey and the red ain't too pretty either. But apart from that... :p

just so long as there's no mental Facebook style changes every few weeks that involve me having to change privacy settings and what not then all is good

I think the discussion is more like going to centre around what tabs Znorman has open on his Chrome browser!
    Discuss!

PS: All looks as normal for me.

The original forum was wild. Back in those days, only three people posted: Arjun, thx1138 and me*. We would have three way conversations with on average one post a week. The forum was so archaic that when you posted, the topic didn't go to the top of the page - it just kept sliding down! :D Then decimalisation came in and we had to change.

*Actually a few other people posted back then too, like geekay, andy gurr and someone else who I've forgotten.

mile is abnormal as ever :)

1 forum I use is REALLY messed up to a point where I rarely post there now . e.g. paragraphs missing and odd error codes etc.

Cleared out the cache ... nada, nopesies, no change whatsoever ...

So it's just on my end???????????????????????????????

It's just too clean of a "bug" ... I mean the radio buttons don't show up anywhere!!! (well, the Search drop-down menu has them hidden away, otherwise nothing!!!)

    WHICH radio buttons? WHERE?

Post a screenshot or something. What browser are you using? What version? What operating system?

How do you expect anyone to know what you're on about if you don't actually give any details GAH!

All of them, and everywhere (well, aside from that one place kinda not really)

Nah, I don't know how to, maybe I'll start a new thread and ask (you specifically) for help on how to do that.

    This one.
    guesser wrote: »

The newest one and up to date.
    guesser wrote: »

The previous former one before the last one, so whatever it was that came out about a decade ago.

The details, I believe, are in the details :-P

Here ... how about this ... maybe I have absolutely no clue what a "radio button" is ... how about you explain it to me just so that we can make sure that we are on the same page ... or at least the same book.

This is a visual representation of what I think might perhaps be three "radio buttons" :

    Radio_button.png

If I say that all of the "radio buttons" have disappeard from the WoS forum ... what do you suppose that might mean?

How about you give sensible answers to any of the questions about what browser you're using.

BTW guesser, sorry ... I honestly thought you were foolin' there, so I didn't take your comments too seriously as I thought I had made it obvious enough what the issue was.

    :-P

I'm not kidding ... I don't have ANY RADIO BUTTONS!!!
