Are you not a Microsoft employee or contractor then? I just assumed you were as I noticed you promote current Microsoft products shamelessly on here at every opportunity, even when better options clearly exist.
Well you clearly assumed wrongly then and, it would seem, I perhaps do not agree with your assessment of "better" options.
Again, reinstalling XP may well make the problem go away but it doesn't fix anything, why would the same problem not appear again once he's installed the same cocktail of software, browser plugins, antivirus updates, blah blah blah.
I believe you'll notice that I didn't recommend reinstalling XP for precisely that reason. In fact I recommended reinstalling Chrome, to see if that fixed it.
A better solution would be to spend a while on google and find out what's wrong with the configuration and put it right. As Timmy said, there are loads of sites about missing radio buttons in chrome.
All of which seem to say there is no fix. So we can go with "Ditch Chrome and use Firefox 7", which I couldn't possibly recommend because Firefox 7 is a memory hogging, slow, bloated PoS app, OR we could go with install IE8 (the highest version that runs on XP) and use that, which I wouldn't recommend because surfing the web on an outdated browser just isn't a wise option these days.
So instead I suggested reinstalling Chrome or possibly migrating to Chrome/IE9 on Windows 7, which is more expensive in the short term but might well be beneficial in the long term in reducing malware infections. I flagged the second as a preferable option because, if you can afford it, it certainly is.
I just did. Obviously. As an alternative to surfing the web on XP, we have Mac, Windows 7 or Linux. Which gives us two options in terms of user-friendly choices, Mac being the expensive one, Windows 7 the cheaper.

Lol. Come on man, don't be coy! Please state your affiliations clearly and honestly. What is it? Microsoft Sales/Marketing Partner? Microsoft Advocate? Be honest. Don't tell me you're just a massive Microsoft fanboi as that would have an air of tragedy about it.
PS. ZNorxMan - maybe you should listen to AndyC... When you have a problem with radio buttons disappearing in your browser, the best option is to switch to the latest Microsoft web browser, even if that also means purchasing (or stealing) the latest Microsoft operating system, and maybe even buying a new PC to run it all on.
I believe you'll notice that I didn't recommend reinstalling XP for precisely that reason. In fact I recommended reinstalling Chrome, to see if that fixed it.
No, quite right, you recommended replacing it entirely with a new copy of windows, which is even more over the top.
My that's quite a rant about firefox there, that wouldn't just be an opinion would it? I mean I could presumably tell Znorx that he shouldn't use either chrome or IE as they're both terrible and to use Firefox on XP because it works perfectly and is what I'm using here, so must be the best solution.
Or I could leave it up to him which browser he prefers and just help him with the actual problem.
It would appear that chrome just doesn't display the checkboxes and radio buttons on the screen, they are still there and can be clicked on according to several sources. Looks to be a known bug in chrome from at least three years ago!
What seems strange to me is that it has just broken. Have you installed an update to the browser?
I'm currently unemployed following an attempted suicide, I do not and have never worked for Microsoft.
Satisfied?
Well I'm genuinely sorry to hear you've had troubles in your recent past. And wish you absolutely every success and happiness possible in the future.
But I also make zero apologies for making fun out of your entirely unwarranted and, frankly, completely incorrect assertions about the merits of giving Microsoft money for no good (in my opinion) reason.
In my experience malware doesn't trigger what appears to be a browser bug/misconfiguration and have no other symptoms.
In my experience people only report the problem they are immeadiately facing, rather than necessarily all the symptoms. See "My email stopped working" when in fact the whole network connection is down.

Really, is it? And here I was thinking I was posting on a web forum, when I should actually have been citing rigourous peer-reviewed studies to ensure I don't actually post my opinion rather than hard scientific facts.

You want to be careful posting opinions, you'll upset Guesser.
I'd be gutted if WOS ever changed it's appearance. I love it just the way it is. In this mad, sinister, ever changing world, it's nice to have something thats stayed (more or less) the same over the years.
This.
Seems like the "radio" buttons are fine for everyone but the o.p. :)
OK, this is really weird, the radio buttons come and go on this computer and it comes up clean when sweeping for malware/viruses/etc.
Lots of people complaining of similar problems under Windows XP here (apparently in all versions of Chrome up to and including 14.x). I guess it may or may not be the same issue that you are seeing. There are various workarounds listed but no full solutions.
I loathe computers
It all started going wrong when we went from 8 to 16 bit data buses, using disks instead of tapes, and connecting computers together into networks. I knew no good would ever come of that!

Actually, I didn't but carry on regardless.

top tip, don't directly contradict something you just posted halfway up the page, people can just read up :p
Fine then, if that's how we help people on WoS the **** it. Just install Firefox Znorx, chrome is **** anyway so there's no point trying to fix it.
I don't find it offensive. I just think, as I said before, that it's not, in fact, a better solution to the problem :p
Everything is there for people to read so I guess everyone can decide for themselves. I'll not bother arguing about it as it's completely off topic.
This.

I think we had Compo, Foggy and Clegg complaining about the changes...
:lol::lol::lol::lol:
Which leads me to believe that it's an failing/aging OS thingie ... and a most peculiar thing at that.

It was easier when we punched users
...which is weird because when you punch users everyone sends them cards
