Mame4Droid.

...At last a port of Mame4All from IPhone to Android !

Thanks to the author. Great stuff !

P.s it uses same romset as on Mame4All on the gp2x / wiz handhelds, so if you have those romsets then your good to go.

... another reason to buy an Android Tablet!

Magic darts! Have also just found a free app in the market for pairing up my Wimote to my tablet via bluetooth, so I've now got a decent-ish controller to use too. I have this cold/flu thing that's doing the rounds and Mrs.C is out with her friends tomorrow so I have a nice day of MAMEing sorted :)

This would be one reason to take the Sony Xperia Play homw with me one weekend :) This android phone as a built in controller which is a bit like a ps2/3 one.

Their other alternatives too for Bluetooth joypads/controllers under Android phones / tablets:

Zeemote JS 1. This is the cheapest bluetooth game controller for mobile phones that you will find. They cost around ?7 on eBay brand new. Needs Bluez IME off Android market to work on Android devices.

Other more expensive options are to buy an IControlPad for your phone and use Bluez IME again if you have an Android device to pair it with the phone/tablet.

Aye. The beauty of the free Wiimote android app is that I have Wii controller sitting around doing nothing, so it's essentially free :)

Indeedy... I just thought I would mention the other alternatives just in case somebody who is reading the thread wants to use a cost effective way to using those controllers with their 'Droid. :)
  • What's the name of the app to let you use a wii remote?

"Wiimote Controller" by "C.C.P. CRE@IONS". It's in the market and is free. Works a treat with MAME on my Xoom tab.

Bah! Several hours into my epic MAME session and I've only just remembered that this tablet has an HDMI out - which, with the bluetooth controller, means I can play this stuff on the telly instead of hunching over the tablet. Better late than never...

Mame4Droid is superb (lot's of great emulators for Android atm.) Only issue with my Android is size of the screen and it's only 2.1 - won't upgrade higher! May have to upgrade my X10 Mini Pro - anybody know if the Xperia Ray is any good?

Cheers fella. Now just need to glue the controller to my phone and I'm set!
