yeah it takes place on a quarter scale map of europe. not sure how big that is, but it would take a few days to walk from one side to the other, maybe a 3 hours in a plane.

it about 10 years old, but its a mmo so its always being updated though. i do have it on the lowest settings. certainly not like COD. but because you are loading the whole map in one go the graphics do suffer. and there is no limit for players in game.

the game really isn't trying to compete with cod though, it probably the hardest fps that you can play, it goes for realism rather than the arcade feel.

this is the game site http://www.battlegroundeurope.com/

    @deadpan

i only used windows movie maker which is nothing fancy but does what you want, and a prog called http://www.fraps.com/ which has a decent demo feature.

Oh right, cool....I used Windows Movie maker for the few vids I have done, and it is pretty decent...and cheers for the link to fraps, I'll maybe give that a go later..

I'll still need a decent capture card for my Xbox 360 stuff though! :)

    i used this.

my machine isnt powerful. it doesn't play modern games for instance.

the software does run behind the game so it can slow it dow at time, so maybe not have it turned on all the time.

I reckon I could get sucked into that....so will never touch it...if the map is that big I'm guessing you could be sat doing nothing for too long

if you are a player worried about the campaign then yeah you can just be guarding something. but most people just go to were the action is. its only really kinda quiet in the middle of the day when the americans have all gone to bed and the europeans are still at work. ;)

I confess I got kinda into COD style games of late, quite good at them too which is nice and like the frantic moments when you unload, swap to your pistols and then still have to knife someone for a badass multikill

yeah when you are doing well they can be great. what i found was a great thing to do, was to find a new player in one of the lesser played games where they had to match all sorts of skill levels, then when he picked a team match join him there so they were all low levels. id pretty much own the map then. :p

kinda of, you can have a free account but you only get to use a rifle.

its costs about 10 to 15 quid a month, its not something id play all year, but its something i pick up now and again.

ha ha yeah, i tried all sorts of military themes, then just though, f**k it, and put that osng on there. ;)

Maybe we should have a thread where WOSsers can put up gameplay footage - made by themselves, of course.

Btw mile, looks like you are playing the German side sometimes - you traitor! ;)
Was just gonna say how odd considering you had "Mile vs the Nazis" in your sig but you must have changed it recently. "Learn the power of the Dark Side, mile", eh ;)

yeah hopefully it will start a trend. ;-)

not tried that fraps thing with anything else, but it does try to open itself in all sorts of programs so maybe it'd work in emulators too.

yeah i am german forces for the time being. legally they are called 'axis' in the game and never display they naughty flag. you can actually be banned from the game for saying the n word too many times. it's a bit strange being part of an invasion of england, which will happen near the end of a german victory.

but yeah at the minute i am crushing those english pig dogs. :-D
