Chris Moyles talking about the Spectrum on Radio 1

Did anyone hear Moyles and co. talking about the Speccy on his breakfast show yesterday morning. Was after the 830am news. He was on about PS2 and X-Box games and comedy Dave was saying he wasn't into video games but enjoyed Frogger and Jet Set Willy.

I think someone tried to do the loading sound of a Speccy and they were on about how critical it was to get the volume level right whilst loading tapes !!!

Was nice to hear the beloved Spec mentioned on national radio all these years on and how it probably is one of, if not the most remembered British computer of the 80's.

You want to listen to Terry Wogan's breakfast show on Radio 2.

    Yes you do.

    You cannot fight it.

    You know you want to.

I cant stand Radio 1 and the music they play, but i must admit i like Chris Moyles as i've been listening to him for years.

I mean anyone with that radio 1 slot is gonna be a bit arrogant or have loads of people dislike them. Look at all the past ones, Chris Evans, Sara Cox etc. Moyles does make me laugh and plays better music than many other Radio 1 dj's.

I hardly listen to the radio nowadays, prefer to listen to my own cd's instead of the chart crap they mostly play.

what? Wogan? Planet Rock more like, now that`s the station to have on while playing any computer game from the 70s & 80s.

It's Radio 2 for me, in fact I have Mark Radcliffe on right now. I always thought he was too good for that shitty Mark and Lard show on R1. It had it's moments, but they did act like a pair of ****s.

Sometimes I go for Virgin Radio or XFM, depending what mood I'm in mind. Can't stand Radio 1 in the least. But I agree, it's good and worth posting that our Speccy was mentioned on there.

kinda like a U.K gold for BBC Radio talk shows.

    plays, comedy, drama.

Comedy is (mostly) top notch, and the sci-fi is good too.

I thoght mark and lard were realy funny and sadly miss the show.

Mark and Lard were top geezers for no better reason than have AC/DC's 'Stiff Upper Lip' as their record of the week and then playing it every day for that week.
I wanna tell you a story 'bout a woman I know...

Radio 3 is good also. Vickers the co-author of the ZX Spectrum manual is singing live to the World tomorrow (Thursday) at 2:00 in the afternoon.

If you miss it then you will be able to catch it on Listen Again.

It will start the Christmas spirit.

    Thanks THX113

Radio 7 sounds worth a listen. Sadly the only Radio station I normally listen to is Radio 4.

Put on your slippers and light that pipe or if that's not allowed where you work suck a humbug.

It's not a rare event but it starts in two minutes

If you ever typed in a program from the Spectrum manual (not that Dorling Kindersley thing) then it was written by the gal at the bottom.

Back in 1983 when not writing for Sinclair Research and Jupiter Cantab she was recording Fats Waller and John Lennon.

I am not sure about Techno but she has, in the past, sung backing vocals for Stephen "Tin Tin" Duffy who is riding high
in the singles and Album charts at the moment with Robbie.

Strictly chrimbo today and she may not be singing solo but nice music to work by anyway .
