Updated Games

Browsing through old issues of SU, I came across this ad for Cylon Attack (at the bottom of http://www.worldofspectrum.org/showmag.cgi?mag=SinclairUser/Issue035/Pages/SinclairUser03500083.jpg ) and it says they've updated it to be isometric.

Does anyone know if any other games were updated after release? Was this a common occurance, but software houses didn't announce it for feat of getting a reputation for releasing buggy software?

This is only off memory , i think it was released on other formats without an isometric viewpoint and updated for the speccy release (it didnt have a non isometric speccy version).

On the C64, there was more than one version of Paradroid and Uridium - the original games, the "Christmas" double-pack featuring enhanced versions of each and then Paradroid Metal Edition and Uridium+. Gribbly's Day Out also got an improved version.

Amaurote and Zub were rushed out as 48K-only versions, replaced by 128K versions later, according to CRASH: http://www.crashonline.org.uk/41/news.htm

Desert Rats, Sweevo's World and Technician Ted are another three that got enhanced re-releases for the 128K machines.

There are numerous instances of games that were re-released in patched versions to cope with incompatibilities with the 128K,+2 and +2A Spectrums as we ll.
