FLASH no more.

Adobe decides to call it quits ... or at least when it comes to Flash for mobile devices.

"The mobile devices which are powered by Adobe Flash player will no more make use of it as the Imaging software make Adobe will no longer continue to develop the Flash Player."

I'd just like to know what sort of moron wrote that near-incomprehensible gibberish. And whether he was actually paid to do it.

Yeah, I think there was something else in there that caught my eye but I can't be bothered to re-read it ... the same report is all over the place in any case.

The read this guardian article it might be better written.

Have you noticed that flash has security updates almost every other day. My guess is that there are so many issues to be addressed, that flash itself is not earning its keep and becoming an undue expense. I would guess that Adobe's decision to move towards HTML5 (an open platform) removes them the burden and expense of securing it, as its then not their fault or problem, its the responsibility of the HTML5 standards creators.

Never had a problem with Flash. The courses I create are output to .swf Flash files for clients. Some use a lesser Flash player, some the latest.

Most of the Adobe tools now output to HTML5 as well as Flash anyway so its not a huge biggie.

Clients havent come back with security issues with Flash, I do work for most of the main banks and theyve never had issues and were always happy with .swf files

Another reason I thought was that HTML5 courses could then run on iOS as Flash couldnt.

Flash has been the cause of most remote exploits and browser crashes for years now, good riddance I'd say.

Adobe would finally be able to relax whilst someone else took the flack for PCs get exploited for once, were it not for the fact the #2 culprit is their shoddy PDF reader!

That could be cause banks don't give a toss about security thought...

Flash has always been abused - entire sites done in flash alienating blind users, bad for search engines, etc.....

This be the funniest thing ive read this week!

I thought it might have been something a bit more radical, maybe correcting spelling mistakes on the menus of local restaurants.

You missed the apostrophe in 'ive' and the 'I' should also be a capital...
