  P-51 Mustang with shark teeth paint job. Probably thought it was appropriate. I think a lot of cover art suggests that the commissioned artists had never seen the game and only ever got the very loosest descriptions of what was involved.

  In some cases, is a big disappointing to find some 'boring' loading screens from very important companies. Two examples:
  
  
  
  Being very good artworks, I think Ocean must have tried harder to the loading screens...

  Sabre Wulf springs to mind - got to be the worst ever Ultimate loading screen. The tiger looks naff - and where is the tiger in the game??

  I wish they used the same (subtle) colour scheme as the C64; ie a grey (or black!) castle and green orcs. The Spectrum ones look ridiculous, like New Romantics rather than orcs!

  Absolutely agree. It could have been a better screen, just seeing Atic Atac, Underwurlde, Knight Lore...
  
  By the way, its the first time in 26 years that I realize about the tiger question! I haven never thought of it before! :lol:

  I don't think the Frankie loading screen is that bad. It's a good bold piece of design. Mind you, an FD Thorpe loading screen of the band in their leather gear would've been aces....

  An obvious one is Deathchase. The original coverart shows a futuristic hover bike thing (and this fits with the 'plot' on the inlay, about it being set in 2501, "after the war..." etc.)
  
  Yet the loading screens shows some bloke on a Triumph-style motorbike that looks like it's taken from a 1980s road safety vid.
  
  Even more bizarre, for the Zepplin re-release, the loading screen is changed to mimic the original Micromega coverart, yet new coverart is featured in which the rider looks like an angry Hells Angel!

  It's not so much a massive difference between the images, it's more that the cover shows a cartoony wrestling match between a human and a green alien and the loading screen seems to be depicting a slow dance :-o :p
