For The Attention of Andrew Barker
Andrew,I have gone away and thought about the last weeks events and have come to a decision and it must be you that i talk too about what i intend to do, because it is you whom i insulted by ignoring and we have this clash of personalities that does need to be addressed.
I apologize for my behaviour towards you and i regret not making more of an effort in assisting you and the WOs Archive in preserving the software that we all so dearly love.
This is a genuine apology and hopefully it will at least clear the way for some cooperation in resolving our issues.
if nothing more comes of our relationship then, at least it can go down on record that we attempted to make friends.
I now offer an olive branch for you in return. I figure that for this apology to have any credibility with this forum i must do something constructive and build bridges towards gaining a little respect other than the disdain that is now shown towards me.
I now realise that this is where i should have posted my original thread concerning the disks and say "That i believe i have a number of +plus disk titles that are needed for the SDP project and i was wondering which ones you still needed to preserve before i offer them for sale. Please get in touch because i am willing to forget our differences and the need for preservation is far greater than petty squabbling"
I am offering the MIA disks that i own to be entered into the WOS archive and would like to know what to do next?
Andrew, I do hope you accept my apology and give me details on what to do next.
maybe in return you might have something that i havent got and we scratch each others backs.
The next step is over to you, i have seen the error of my ways and wish for it all to be right.
This is to all those in the forum who doubt the existance of my collection of software and its ability to source MIA software.
As a goodwill gesture i will also offer, solely for the use of the World of Spectrum archive, out of my massive selection, 23 previously un-sourced MIA titles.
A taster for infoseek Zia Rosa, Lycantropus, Ostar
So there is a definate chance of MIA's for Christmas.
I thank you for listening and reading and I am a man of my word, although up till now i have not even said no, so i think its time fr the man to say yes.
Are the forum going to say yes to my contributing?

For this to be resolved properly and to show that there will be no more ill will, bad feelings etc between myself and the WOS forum. It has to be resolved in open forum by the sources of the problem. Once that is resolved the apologies will filter down and everybody else affected will be appeased and then pleased to know that all will be well and accept me as a contributor to the forum.
Feel a part, a genuine part of spectrum preservation. Instead of that happy smugness of thinking i was a part of this place when i first arrived here, and that led to this situation.
Concerning my spectrum collection, If you are all aware of the Christmas Carol by Dickens. Please put me in place as the character Scrooge and I, like Ebeneezer, had something that should be shared with everyone. I choose not and I have been visited by the ghosts of Spectrum past, the joy of the invention of the speccy and the childhood memories of manic miner, elite, etc. Christmas present well we are all in our little houses contemplating what could be as we are reminded again of The Master scrooge and his reluctance to join us for Christmas, and i have been visited by future. I contemplated, that unless i do something to change the future, which we all know is the death of spectrum software in its original form, that this future will eventually happen and all will be lost and not serve a purpose. So i posted this thread in an attempt at changing destiny,do thst all can read and agree its intention. Which is...To help preserve the future of the spectrum.
I have attempted to make peace and it appears that the silence means that i am unwanted by the source and i must therefore accept the consequences of my actions. I admit that i have been unfair and will suffer the punishment. a saddening end to what could have been the boost needed to keep the spirit of preservation alive.
With that i wish you all a Happy Christmas and...Until next time....Sorry there isnt going to be a next time...HAve Fun People
Nice analogy with that whole Scrooge thing...
I was unavailable all day yesterday and for most of the rest of today, anyway you should get a reply from Andy shortly.

Appologies for the delay, I had to think over exactly what I was going to say in such a frigile situation. I hope you understand. I'll not read much into you're last post until you've responsed to this one, because I imagine a quicker response was expected.
Here goes....
It takes balls to come back to the forum and apologise in front of such a wide
and varied audience, so I commend you for your effort and welcome you into the fold !
I don't think anyone has cast their opinion of you in stone so don't worry too much,
it will all work out for the best.
I look forward for the chance to rebuild old bridges and forge a new path for the good
of all we stand for (The Spectrum Scene).
I think we both have an understanding of how passionate we both are for the same
cause. I can only appologies whole heartidly for any grievances I've caused you.
In your post you say:
"maybe in return you might have something that i havent got and we scratch each others backs. "
What did you have in mind ? I'm not a big collector but will do what I can. What I can offer
is clarification and verification of the curent state of your media (disks and tapes)
which will be of benefit when you wish to sell them in the future. In turn you have the
knowledge that they are in good working order which should increase your predicted renevue.
Any submissions for preservation can be sent to my work address (Available upon request)
Many thanks for giving us all a second chance, I trust that this is the beginning
of a happy ending ?
Best wishes
Andy Barker (ZX Spectrum Preservation Team - http://newton.sunderland.ac.uk/~specfreak/ )
hmm that bit sounds a bit ominous, sorry there isnt going to be a next time???????????
Further to your most recent post:
Indeed you have attempted to make peace and we accept sincerely. A noble and appreciated effort on your part. Be sure from this day forth you will be treated with equal respect as any other contributing member on this forum.
On the contrary Robert, the offer is still open, it's in your hands now.
Best wishes
Andy Barker
