Treasure Island Dizzy's item select was really annoying.
You would get the salt water spade and then have to leave teh water to rearrage the item list so you wouldn't have accidents and drop the snorkel before the spade...
You deserve all the pain coming your way for playing any of the awful pile of albumen that are the Dizzy games
So what you're essentially saying is "console gamers prefer joypads over keyboard + mouse". Because I think you'll find that most PC FPS gamers would prefer the keyboard + mouse combo over joypad.
to be honest it's probably down to what is available/what they're used to that defines it
mouse is easier to use than joypad so few PC gamers are likely to plug in an xboox pad instead etc
flipside is consoles limits you to a joypad ergo....no choice
In my experience mates who game on PC really can't hack the switch to joypad easily, though it's pretty simple to go from a pad to mouse as it's pretty much point n click

Yes, and yes. There are a few PC users who use joypads in their games (which I can certainly understand in some genres, such as platform games or top down shooters), but also in FPSs, which I think is a little strange, as PC FPSs are optimised for a mouse + keyboard (i.e. fast, and often have no auto-aim function). Have a look on the Gamefaqs' PC gaming board if you don't believe me, the XBox 360 joyap + PC is quite a common combination, even for games like Skyrim, though why baffles me - whenever I play a FPS on the PC I always use keyboard + mouse, even though overall I'm much more a joypad person.
And don't get me started on motion controllers (I hate them)!
Same with me really with FPS on pc its keyboard and mouse as the mouse is faster and more accurate, there is a sure difference playing console versions of FPS though with an analog joypad because its not quite as accurate its almost as though they either have slight auto aim or the colision detection is widened so its easier to get head shots, etc.
Pete Cooke's games had that cool arrow interface. It is definitely cool to see it for first time, but then it just starts to annoy, because it is much slower than a simple set of hotkeys.

I really wanted to play Cookie but found it infuriating and so i simply gave up and played other games instead.
Err ... what is them? (I perhaps wants to 'ate 'em too!)
EDIT: Oh, you mean like the Wii method of control, what with the gyroscopoid and whatnots built-in gadgetry?
