I converted Blitzkrieg Bop onto the Speccy...

...using Beepola in the space of 5 hours. I was looking through Morcar and Mr Beep's threads on their tunes, looking for ideas for my "Duke Savage" theme tune, and someone mentioned Beepola. I thought I'd give it a bash, downloaded it this morning, and I have just finished converting Blitzkrieg Bop just now there, just to see if I could do it. The vocals are a tiiiiiiny wee bit out of tune, but I'd like to think I did it justice :D If anyone out there wants to make a tune, trust me Beepola is piss-easy to use. I have the advantage of having used Pro-tracker on the Amiga in the dim and distant past, but Beepola is even easier to use.

Alas, I don't know where I can store it legally to let folk have a listen (bound to be breaking a copyright law or 2 here and there...) :(

At the advice of a mate, I've uploaded it here... http://www.4shared/ .com/audio/IJ46qu60/8-bit_Bop.html

The space between 4shared/ and .com should be deleted for the full url. I think.

the slash after 4shared must be deleted also.

Aaah, knew there was something wrong with the url. I wasn't sure if WoS would let me post the link, as Facebook wouldn't.

hah, that's good :D. and yes 1 or 2 notes of the vocals are wrong but it doesn't matter tbh, makes it funnier

how do you use this beepola thing then? I've got a spin.666 emu and that's it. can I make tunes using that?

You don't need an emulator to use Beepola - just download it and run it and make groovy tunes. It exports TAP files or assembly listings if you want to play the tunes on a real speccy or emulator, or WAV files if you don't

Honestly, it really is piss-easy to use, and a lot of fun once you get into it. There were a few things not covered in the instructions (not that I could see anyway) that took me 10 minutes or so to work out, but the point is I DID work them out. (To delete a note, select it and press DEL. To add drum beats, type a number from 1 to 4 into the drum channel; to hear the whole song, drag the wee orange icon that says loop to the end of your playlist of channels and press F5; on said playlist, type the number of each channel into each wee box, and it will play them in the order you've picked. That's the things I had to work out for myself.)
