Here we can talk about zombies, which are the best films, the worst films, which films are cut, which arent cut and most importantly we can discuss how to survive zombie apocalypse.

    yeah tis, good film too, bout time they rereleased the whole series again on dvd, the first 3 are pretty hard to buy cheapish these days on region 2 (pal)

    i read world war z a while ago, that was a load of garbage too.

    its main claim that a zombie apocalypse would happen was because modern military tactics wouldn't be able to hold back the shuffling hoards.

    an M1 abrahams tank would have no effect, as its explosives shells are designed to cause concusive damage which the zombie would shirk off. the .50 cal bullets the main machine gun would fine would be utterly useless as they couldn't be accuratly aimed at said zombies head.

    assualt helicopters would again be useless due to lacking the ability to put aimed rounds down.

    bombing them wouldn't work as again as bombs only cause concussive damage.


    as for the infantry, well they'd either just run off scared, or fail to shot the zombies as they aren't trained to go for head shots and their rifles would jam instantly.


    shame they didn't think about erecting a wall. :p

    well oddly in the book, it said that the UK survived pretty well as we 'all' moved into the various castles that littered our landscape.

    Ok ... assuming that the explosives and guns don't do the trick, there is always the other seldom-remembered defense-use of the M1 Abrams tank, i.e. the one of being a rather splendid mower-of-Zombies, i.e. Full Steam Ahead Cap'n!

    Just because a device' accessories do not work, the device itself might do the trick.

    yeah its wouldn't be hard to stick something on the front.

    hell, a combine harvester would be pretty much sort them out.

    You don't have to shoot a zombie in the head to immobilise it...

    If you shatter enough bones it would be pretty well halted. You could then either finish them off or just leave them to decompose while you deal with the mobile ones... :)

    Anyone read "Day By Day Armageddon" and "Beyond Exile: Day By Day Armageddon" by J L Bourne? These are everything that good zombie fiction should be. Scavenging, seeking shelter, fighting or teaming up with other survivors.

    i think a zombie apocalypse, would work better in a day of the triffids type scenarion, ie the triffids are allowed to flourish because the world is given a major handicap of some kind.

    possibly nuclear war etc.

    like the ghouls in the fallout series. :p

    I liked Zombie Flesh eaters (has to be the uncut version), Dawn of the dead, Night of the living dead and Brain dead (would that count as a zombie film?).

    Zombie Flesh Eaters is my fave, Dawn Of The Dead close second. I haven't seen all that many zombie films though, if I'm honest...

    I really liked Doghouse

    And Dead Set was great fun.

    Day of the Dead is one of my favs... and the special edition blu ray with the comic book of how bub became bub was fantastic.

    My brother's probably got loads of it, he collects Italian horror stuff, so there's bound to be tons of it there. I'll grab a few. :)

    Undead is a wider category than zombie. You know, every Spectrum is a computer but not every computer is a Spectrum ;)
