Mrs. Safia Farkash Gaddafi needs MY help

edited January 2012 in Chit chat
I'm absolutely touched! Such a good job I check my junk folder! And who'd have thought she read The Daily Mail.
Dear Sir/Madam,

I am Mrs. SAFIA FARKASH, wife of late Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, who was killed by the unfaithful opposition leaders in my country Libya .I am desperately looking for a foreign partner whom I can trust to handle some investment for me.

My Husband deposited the sum of US$65.4m (Sixty five million four hundred Thousand United States Dollars) each in my name at two reputable security companies in Africa. I will disclose to you their names as we proceed. I have already left Libya to Algeria. Your assistance will enable us invest this money in your country or any where it will be safe and productive.

You can as well read more about the crises in my country and about this situation on the following sites

I am waiting for your prompt and positive response.

Thanks.

Mrs. Safia Farkash Gaddafi

Well, they do tend to pander to the right wing somewhat.

Tell her you will get back to her when you have finished your business with Prince Um Bongo from Nigera.

They'll never fall for such a ridiculous story.

We all know that Um Bongo is supposed to be from the Congo.

I have messed with perpetrators of things like this a bit in the past, replying from a specifically set up account with the phrase "How interesting! Tell me more!".

Best record was sending just that four times to their continual responses. Eventually I think they worked out that I was either a simpleton or having them on.

I just can't believe it is still a viable way of scamming money, and that people must still be falling for it.

Amazingly, we got one of these through the post at work today! I had no idea they still tried the old fashioned way

This one was dated mid November and came (aparently) from China and was addressed to the store manager. It was full of spelling mistakes (not unlike my posts ;-) ) and other errors and was at pains to point out that this offer should be kept "just between us and not to tell anybody".

But, our store manager could be in line to recieve half fo $21million if he just forwards on his bank details ;-)

Gaddafi, Gaddafi ... hmmm, never heard that name before. Must be legit though, I guess.

I wonder if she's a distant relative of Freddy Farkash, you know, the infamous frontier pharmacist. Must be some truth to how she has all that money, I believe he was a co-author of "The Modern Day Book of Health and Hygiene", a well respected 19th century medical text, if my mammaries serve me correctly.
