System 15000

edited May 2012 in Games
I really, really wanted to get into this game. But after about ten minutes of play, it would stop with a "Security check" and white dots would slowly start appearing on the screen? after about ten minutes of this, I'd just give up.

Anyone know what that was all about?

I quite like this game, although I never get far whatsoever. I don't get the white dots scenario though. Sounds like you've caught some kind of tropical disease. Unlucky chap, and just in time for Christmas too!

Bah - no mention of said dotty problem there though.

On a side note - a couple of years back, we did a wind-up on a chap in the office; we loaded up an emulator with System 15000 on full-screen onto his PC. He was convinced he'd found some special hacking application...

Anyone here know what the differences are between System 15000 and System 15000 - 2nd Edition?

I know what you mean now. Just loaded it up, played until I got the list of numbers from L.T. Perry, tried the first one on the list, got shut down, screen filled with white dots. Perhaps there are certain systems you're supposed to avoid? Nice little game though, I'm gonna keep at it.

    Not at all. Uh-uh.

I've only played Hacker once. I remember having to guide robots through tunnels or something? I don't remember any hacking anyway!

One version doesn't have the dots?

I don't remember hacking anything, I do remember having to identify different parts of a robot though. "This is his arm, this is his head etc..."

@ Beanz: That's possible, I hope that is the case. I shall try the 2nd edition tonight.

Just had another little fiddle with it, I get the system shutdown (white dots) whenever I dial the Routledge system, even when using the correct code. It takes a little while, but you just have to wait for the system to reboot and off you go again.

Oh, and don't press "Break". Ever.
