Wallpaper

I got a little bored and made some simple speccy desktop wallpaper...
I decided to use it myself so here I am making it available to all.
http://homepage.eircom.net/~fuzzbucket/zxwalls/1280.jpg - 1280 x 1024
http://homepage.eircom.net/~fuzzbucket/zxwalls/1024.jpg - 1024 x 768
http://homepage.eircom.net/~fuzzbucket/zxwalls/800.jpg - 800 x 600
http://homepage.eircom.net/~fuzzbucket/zxwalls/640.jpg - 640 x 480

Windows users - I would advise converting these to bmp (unless you use Active Desktop..)
I would have uploaded zipped BMPs if I had anything other than dialup, but this is Ireland - DSL is still a ripoff.

Pretty sure it should be orange.

Well, the speccy is an autobalanced photo of my machine so that stripe looks lighter than it actually is...
...just had a look at the box of my 48 and 48+ - it is definitely orange.

i stand corrected, although it is on the band in 128, and is usually shown as yellow to my knowledge, even on the buttons in this forum.

The colour bands on the Speccy machines look more yellow, alright. The colour bands I used in the wallpaper are from an eps of the sinclair logo I got from http://logo.nino.ru/
This link should go to it directly...

Well, I've just checked the metal face play on one of my speccys, and the yellow/orange is actually yellow, although more of a deeper 'sun' yellow.

    Definitely not orange though.

Again, the orange colour is present on the sinclair logo on the packaging and on the postscript logo I got.
Well, any hope I had for praise or criticism is gone after this ;)

    Orange!

Well, despite my comment regarding the orange/yellow colouring, I have put the wallpaper on my desktop and would like to thank Fuzzbucket for putting the effort into making it.

You may have started a new trend here - its certainly inspired me to do a speccy-related wallpaper myself, (perhaps even a whole dektop theme one day!). I'm thinking something based on an individual speccy game, or game series.

I'll post anything I create here as and when I get round to it. :)

Yep, nice wallpaper. BTW, reverting to the argument bout the colour, I think it makes more sense to believe it is Yellow-orange than just plain Orange. Here is why:

The spectrum never had any Orange colour in its pallette. Yellow is there though...

Incidentally, the logo colour scheme is close the VIBGYOR (rainbow) scheme, except that indigo and Violet are left out. So, u have blue (Cyan is close enuff), green, yellow-orange (instead of two seperate colours) and Red.

Lastly, the orange colour on the logo doesn't match the one on my speccy and the one on my friend's +3. It's most definitely more yellowish on our machines. A case of incorrect colour translation on the website perhaps?
