Broken screw

edited February 2012 in Hardware
I'm trying to fix my ZX Spectrum because of some wavy lines appearing on the CRT TV I'm using, but this screw is messing up my chances...

It's the top-right screw. I've been turning it for several hours now, and it won't come out! I don't want to forcibly open my ZX Spectrum, though...

Any suggestions?

I take it it wont open with that screw in? What I would do is take all the other screws out then lift the case apart giving that screw some tension then slowly unscrew until it "bites" and come out

I unscrewed all the other screws and it turns out that the problematic screw can't come out, but fortunately, the computer opened! My energies were concentrated on that nasty little screw so I didn't pay any heed the other screws.

I take it the plastic has broken that it screws into then? Or the threads gone in the hole?

I'm not sure. I tried to push the screw out while unscrewing it and it still didn't come out.
