RIP, Whitney.
A real shame.
RIP Whitney:sad:
I would also believe that she was much older than 48, maybe over 60. She has been forever, since I remember.
Somehow I was always confusing her with Tina Turner. ;)
nice voice but the songs weren't that good
RIP Whiney Houston
Rip Whitney.
48 is no age but I thought she was about 48 back in the eighties!
RIP Whitney.
She then met and married Bobby Brown and became a drink and drug addict and her career took a nosedive.
Draw your own conclusions.
What a damned waste.
RIP Whitney
I remember seeing her on something a couple of years back and being really shocked at how thin she had become...she then proceeded to attempt to sing, and although I've never been a fan of warbly-types like her or Mariah Carey, her singing was awful compared to what it used to be like...I thought then then it would only be a matter of time before news of her death would appear online, as it was clear she was wasted on something....
Be it drugs or not, her death proves yet again that fame isn't always all it's cracked up to be....
My wife once worked as a nanny in the neighbourhood she lived in. Usher was also reported to live in the area too. MJ had a pad not far away too, but was rarely there.
The thing that pisses me off about this blatant hypocrisy is if she'd survived the same people printing that bullsh*t would've titled the story something like "Haha! Crackhead".
Just like when Anna Nicole died she was suddenly "Americas Sweetheart", when the same people had been printing stories taking the piss out of her for years.
Anyway I'm no fan of Whitney Houston infact I bloody hate her music, but it is quite sad to watch the total collapse of someone who was way up there at one time. Apparently she was just in a film as well, it hasn't even been released yet AFAIK?
The label or the country!?
One of a long line of female pop acts that sing songs with the word Oooooooooh in them.
Shame all the same.
not now tho :(
I wasn't a fan of her music at all but it is a shame she has died. However, drug addicts die every day, why should this one suddenly be headline news? If she had keeled over in 1990 at the height of her fame I can see it, but not now. She's someone who was famous for used to being famous if that makes sense.

Oh I don't know, when corpses start to bloat up they make noises when the gas is expelled via the mouth, say by rhythmic pressing on the abdomen. Your dream may still come true!
excellent tune. the album title is kind of relevant now as well...
When people look back at Whitney Houston, they'll say "What a shame", but it'll be as much for what could have been in her career as for her untimely death. RIP.

While obviously sad to see someone pop their clogs I am now not looking forward to being force fed her bland and not at all to my taste music as everyone and their wife leaps on the faux grief wagon by pumping her tunes out 24/7
While I'm not a fan I wouldn't turn off the tv or radio if they played her early stuff, some of that wasn't bad, but my god that Bodyguard song was just bloody annoying. I bet that goes to number one next week.
That'll be me switching my alarm from radio to buzzer for the next 5 months
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

my thoughts exactly
I also wasn't a fan of a lot of her stuff - but she did have a good voice. Whitney samples appear in early Jungle tunes - so I kinda have an affinity to her.
IIIIIIIIIYAIIIIIIIIIIIYAIIIIIIIIIIWILLLLLLLLLLALLLLLLWAYYYYYSSSSSSLLOOOVEEEEYOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOooooOOOOooOOOOOO etc.
She is still dead, and the chances of recovery aren't looking good....
Because cocaine sales are down?
