Two fingered games
Nifty Lifty, Crimebusters, Bug Eyes.
I love games with simple two keyed controls like these*, can anyone name any other good ones worth investigating?
Also, apologies is this is a repeat thread, I did a search but found nowt.
* (no not because I like having one hand free, go sit in naughty corner)

Yes but you can play them with just 2 fingers!
Aye, but on Arkanoid at least the only ones you NEED are left and right....the ball launches after a time delay even with Catch and you don't need lasers to play....ergo, two key game
mass confusion has arised
A version of Bomber we had - a game my mum and Dad loved - only required one - "B"
2 fingers? 2 keys?

or you can play the cack-cack-p0o version that is on cas hit 50 :)
Indeed it's a catastrophe!
I'd accept Arkanoid as it's predominantly lefts and rights, as Wookiee sez the third button is arguably superfluous.
Never played Bugaboo, will check out.
I have however let myself and you all down though, in order to maintain a modicum of brevity I misled the noble users of WOS with a vague thread. I'll try again:
Ammendment 1.0:
I would be interested to try more games, preferably arcade or platform, (though other formats that proved interesting would be accepted), where the player uses only 2 keys to control the player. This usually manifests itself as a left right only control. Other directions are controlled by eg. gravity or trampolines. On rare occasions a third key would be acceptable under the definition of 'it just sits right in the spirit of ammended thread 1.0'.
Suggestions would be most welcome.
:-P
(I still don't think I've explained myself properly!)
Ack! fog has rendered ammendment 1.0 redundant already! (good suggestion though ta)
Ammendment 2.0:
I would be interested to try more high quality games, preferably arcade or platform, (though other formats that proved interesting would be accepted), where the player uses only 2 or 1 keys to control the player. This usually manifests itself as a left right only control. Other directions are controlled by eg. gravity or trampolines. On rare occasions a third key would be acceptable under the definition of 'it just sits right in the spirit of ammended thread 1.0'.
Suggestions would be most welcome :-D
This would still fall under "two fingered games" ...
Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
This is getting out of hand, surely time to lock the thread
I would be interested to try more high quality games, preferably arcade or platform, (though other formats that proved interesting would be accepted), where the player uses only 2 or 1 keys to control the player. This usually manifests itself as a left right only control. Joystick control may be included but only on the understanding that left and right motion of said joystick is analogous to two key control. Other directions are controlled by eg. gravity or trampolines. On rare occasions a third key would be acceptable under the definition of 'it just sits right in the spirit of ammended thread 1.0'.

Err ... what about up/down?
We need a lawyer or an estate agent to unravel this mess now!
I'm going for a pint :-D
Bring back enough to share, will ya!
He used only the 7 key to jump forwards - no other keys at all!
Cassette 50 is your friend ;)
That's nobodys friend!
pooyan (was also on atari and c64 :D )
and you lot call yaself retro gamers... I dunno :)
there is a c64 demo with a rather unique / clever way to get to the next part dutch breeze by blackmail you probably can't get it to get past that part under emulation though
Gets coat...
Sorry guys, I didn't want to have to do this but you've forced my hand. I'm reporting this matter to GIGATRON for a resolution.
Goodnight.
No argument.
