+2a video issue(s)

edited February 2012 in Hardware
Hi all,

Hooked up a nice 2a i got off ebay today and tried it with the standard tv cable to a 15" LCD TV and all works as it should.

Get a 'snow' pattern moving around on the screen though.

So i thought i'd try 2a scart cable to see if I can get a better image and I sometimes get a nice clear display, other times the whites are all purple.

Also with the scart - i get no audio, even thou i've got an audio cable running from the speccy to the TV audio inputs.

OH - i've got a divide hooked up as well - but i cant see how that's causing the problem.

Any ideas ??

Separate audio inputs? Perhaps if the TV detects that scart connector is being used (or you select it manually), it also picks up audio from same scart connector?

And colors wandering off that were fine before... sounds like a cabling issue to me. Maybe some of those scart pins are bent out of shape? (on the female / TV side, that is)

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm still not sure what's going on but for the moment i'll stick to the TV input unitl I get time to figure it out.

Spent most of last night figuring out why the DivIDE had starting displaying everything in gibberish ( turns out it had gone all foreign on me :) ) so a quick reflash and all was good.

Anyone point me to a RGB to Scart pinout for a +2a ?

    cheers

sounds like a wonky green connection.

Yay - took the cable apart and one of the wire/resistor combo's had a dry joint.

    Cheers
