a bit much considering it hasn't got the interface to hook it up to a CPC. I'd wait till the last minute to bid on it, if I was.

It depends on whether you've got a disc based CPC i.e. a 664/6128 or a tape based one (464). The 464 doesn't have the disc controller or AMSDOS ROMs, so you still need an interface to use an FD-1 (called a DD-1 IIRC)

Works without interface on drive B of +3 and the 664/6128

so whats the extra interface I seen it sold with previously for then?
much like say a joystick box for a 48k speccy etc.

I like buying things with as much re-sale value , hence why I'd want the interface as well.. so it'd attract CPC folk as well as specchums.

If I remember correctly it can also be connected to any motherboard with IDE controller, and it can be used for preservation purposes. :)

Thats the DDI Interface for connecting to CPC464's, sometimes sold with the FD1, I recently had one, boxed that I sold to zeropolis
