BlackBerry playbook

edited March 2012 in Chit chat
This is my first post from my BlackBerry Playbook. Whilst away on a work trip I got given a blackberry playbook. I would not have chosen to own one if I had to pay. I must say, that as a frequent I pad user, I think they are quite good. It comes with Need For Speed Undercover and it's graphical and functional capabilities are impressive.

I will buy a car holder and use it as a sat navigation and media player.

I wouldn't get too attached to it, they'll be out of business in two years.

Says the man in a forum of a long since obsolete computer from an organization that itself went bust.

I find it sad that they lost their way. How many will loose their jobs.

I find it slightly sad too. I don't like the phones much (or having to look after a BES in work) - but they do do corporate email very well indeed(as long as it's exchange or lotus notes) - mine is invaluable for that alone.

Honestly - I either forgot or didn't know they did tablets....good to hear an iPadder say they're ok.

I'm buying one just to use for streaming football when out at friends houses. Should come in handy when the woman has the soaps on, lol

The picture quality on them is excellent so that would be a very good use for it. Plus for the software technical amongst us, you can code C++, as well as Java. This makes it very easy to port existing applications to the playbook.

How good is the battery on them? Is the interface decent? I've checked them out on some sites, but they don't really show the interface in action (well blackberry.com does but they would hehe).

It seems quite good. I played need for speed in 3d for 3 and a half hours and used a 3rd of the battery life. Bearing in mind if was running in 3d, with stereo sound (speakers in slits each side on the screen) and connected to my wifi.
