borat was very funny when he was a segment of the ali-g show imo. it got a bit laboured over the course of a whole film. I loved the bruno film though, which is weird because I didn't like the short bruno sketches in the ali-g show.
Fake my a**e. Unless it's something deliberately false leaked on purpose (? la Luther Blissett), the news spread throughout several information websites (BBC, Guardian, LA Times, Yahoo!, The Telegraph, Fox Sports etc.), so I don't think it can be quickly dismissed as fake.
It's common these days for people to dismiss everything sensational on the internet as "fake", probably something to do with not want to be seen as a mug and misplaced scepticism coming out better than misplaced belief.
Assuming it's not a fake (and I doubt it is) then it's likely that the organisers fell victim to the common modern problem of lazily looking things up on the internet rather than doing proper research. The fake Kazakh "anthem" from Borat is probably more well-known and popular online than the real one.

I just couldn't believe organisers playing in public song in English about the cleanest prostitutes in the area and the winner lady listening to it with a pokerface :-o

Sacha Baron Cohen doesn't do fake either which is the whole point of his comedy. The only victims pre-warned were Posh and Becks who came out great despite the fact he threw a few curveballs.

The song is "Jackie Wilson Said" but if you look in the backgound the BBC researcher has a picture of 1982 darts champion Jocky Wilson.
The late Jackie Wilson was a soul singer whose 1957 hit "Reet Petite" funded the launch Motown Records. After his death it made UK No. 1 in 1986.

Brilliant lol. I watched bruno with the commentary and they say the only 2 people in the film who were 'in on it' were the social services lady who comes to take his baby away on the chat show (the chat show is all real) and Harrison ford who i think he swears at.
