Meeting people from...back then.
So, I was out with a friend this friday evening, and we were at a bar which we hadn't been at before, and while I was talking to my friend I noticed a guy in the stall next to ours and I couldn't help but to think that "he seemed familiar".
..."once" there was a shop in the city that sold (among other things) Spectrum hardware and software, and it was one of the places that I used to frequent "back then", and the guy who ran the place - I remember his name was Henrik - looked like the guy in the stall next to us, so I went over to him (and his company) and asked a few questions, and after answering the obligatory question of "why and what" with "I'll tell the first of you three, who'll be growing breasts, why I'm here" :p I asked him if he was indeed the one who took care of that shop circa 1983 ...and he said yes.
He was never my friend and I've never talked to him since then - I was just a random kid who came in there sometimes to browse and to buy software (and actually bought my first Spectrum there), but I recognized him tonight...after almost 30 years...and he was stunned that this random person would recognize him, out of the blue, after all this time.
It's funny how you brain works sometimes.
Anyway, after a small chat I gave him my card and he said he'd mail or call me and who knows...perhaps we'll grab a pint together some time. :)
Just thought I'd share this story of recognizing a "Speccy person" after some odd 20 years and surprising him with...fame...as limited as it may be.
Anyone else got similar stories?

Ive lost contact with 2 of my main spec chums from schooldays and not seen them for about 17 yrs now but would certainly catch up if I saw them again - in fact I lost contact with one of them because I was being an obnoxious idiot so a jolly reunion might not be on the cards there
