should have let the original *WELL* alone.. I like Ray as an actor, but it's not for him and I doubt they could get away with half the stuff now they could in the 70's .e.g. like life on mars

whats weird was the other trailers.. 1 for katy perry "film"..

and another for keith lemon.. which is probably one for DVD

the car chase scenes were done by jeremy clarkson. :p

it was funny watching him explain to the director that to make that particular car skid around a corner like that the driver would have to keep his finger pressed on a button for 7 seconds to turn a certain setting off.

yer I saw that on top gear, handy advert for the film though. Maybe Jezza is / was one of the investors in the film..hhmm

They tried a kind of Sweeney remake in the 90's (anyone remember Thief Takers?) but that didn't do well, i can't see how this remake will do any better, the original was one of the best cop shows we ever made, John Thaw must be spinning in his grave.

Traction control. Was funny that episode of Top Gear. I assumed Top Gear offered them 50k to dick about on set and film a bit. Film had a budget of ?2 million I think so some TG cash would have been handy. Or the film producers know Jezza and they decided to get a long advert for the film. Either way its good PR for the film.

yeah its more likely that top gear has a better budget, and more experienced people at shooting cars at high speed.

it wasn't the most cynical piece of advertising ive seen, i mean the whole show is telling you go go out and buy half a million pound cars. going to watch that film was prolly the cheapest thing they have ever bigged up.

remember he prolly owns the top gear brand AND the production company for it etc.. it's a massive show world wide, then they do the live shows on top of it. so when the beeb threaten to chuck him off, no matter to him, he can take it elsewhere

much like his mum and Paddington bear merchandise in the UK

but it wouldn't have surprised me if he did a bit of venture capital on the film, risky. but if you get a hit the returns are good.

it always amazed me mini didn't give the italian job (original) the cars for free, yet fiat gave all the cars

Will the remake feature the goodies in a Ford Cortina (with accessory sports headlights) and the baddies in a Jag?
