Well, the home syringing kit has helped (partially). I got rid of some of the crap but i'm still a bit deaf but not as bad as before. I'll use oil for a couple more days and try again, there must be a stubborn but of wax somewhere at the back of the ear canal.
If it's still not shifted i'll phone the clinic and make another appointment but at least i can hear a bit better now!

Pic or it didn't happen  (j/k)

I wonder if you could take a hot bath and dip your head and ears under the water , then turn your head so the problematic ear was facing upwards under the water. This would fill it with hot water and may loosen the wax. Maybe try staying under water for as long as you can.

Or along the same lines perhaps a rope around the neck and a jolting drop might loosen the offending wax?

I woke up this morning and now my hearing is perfect! I can now hear my downstairs neighbour arguing on the phone now.
Everything sounds really loud now though, so that syringing did the trick!

Phew! I'm glad that happened to you. That's usually the best way to start any morning.

Maybe you should send chunks of the excavated gunk out to some of the WoSsers who are having issues with their noisy-loud neighbours. Once they receive it, I guess it's up to them what they do with it. I'd think they'd plug it in their ears to muffle out the 'bours but I guess they could also mix it in with the petrol of their neighbour's car.
