    I used to know his son, he was a security guard at Tesco, High Wycombe in the 80's. Thought he was a bit of a ladies man, actually he was a knobhead.

    Apparently his dad was a lovely guy though...
    I wanna tell you a story 'bout a woman I know...

    How am I supposed to learn how to 'play in a day' now? RIP. I'm sure a good few people can play guitar thanks to him :-)

    A shame, i think he was Britain's first guitar hero (maybe second to Hank Marvin) but 91 is a good age.

    Levon Helm from The Band carked it today also. I was going to post a thread about it but these lame-arsed boohoo RIP threads about people none of us have ever met sort-of get my goat a bit.

    Listening to The Band Greatest Hits (digitally remastered) right now though.

    I remember reading about him in guitar mags and it's amazing how many of today's guitar heroes mentioned him and his Play in a Day guide.

    Top bloke, though 'Play in a Day' is stretching trade descriptions a tad!
