I love my wife, but sometimes I love my Speccies more. She doesn't understand.
"Why have you got all of these? What good are they? Why can't we get rid of them? Are they worth money? Why not? What's that horrible noise?"
She treads a fine line between marital bliss and being knocked unconcious, chucked into the boot of my car and horrifically beaten to death with one of my +2's in a quiet forest only to be found months later by a man walking his dog.

:-o
There is too much detail there. Nurse! Kilmannan needs his tablets!
Never seen any Imagine titles in a big box tbh, so it was very nice to be able to pick that up. Splat and Eureka! i'm also pleased with (along with a sealed copy of Escape from Arkaron, which I forgot to photograph!) but i'm actually proudest of Talisman. Been hunting for that for a good while, and makes a fantastic centrepiece to my collection, which has hit a good-but-still-modest 480 titles!
I traded all my speccy stuff for a box of Australian chocolates several years ago. Or so I thought. Turns out I still have a few "stealth speccy" faceplates. There were four made in total. JeffB has one. Winston has one. I have two left and would be willing to part with one to a good home for free. Any takers?
First come, first served as they say. You'll need to get your address details to me somehow. The easiest way is to pop into coldfront's IRC server. No point PMing me here as I have it switched off. Failing those options, maybe someone who does have PM enabled and frequents IRC would be willing to pass on your details.
Great posts folks, some great pictures. I'll post some pictures of what I have here soon, but not the 2 boxed 128k+ and 1 boxed 48K+ I have at my parents house.
In the mean time here is a photo of my 48k+ with as many add ons as I could manage. Of course I could never switch it on like this.. could I?
This is my stash. Feels a bit inadequate compared to the other collections here.;) It is the 'original' one though, i.e. what I used to play back when the Speccy was my only computer (before I went 16-bit). I haven't added to this collection since 1987-88.
The very first time I saw a Speccy (rubber keys) I saw the collection of software... almost two dozen 60min BASF tapes with an inlay more or less like this:
Side 1 | Side 2
Pyjamarama 013 | Kosmic Kanga 015
High Noon 087 | Knight Lore 092
Pool 162 | Jet Set Willy 154
etc. Each tape had as many games as it would fit. Back then I didn't know the difference between "original" and "copy".
Since the tape recorder had a counter, I thought the whole idea was brilliant.
A few years later I got my +2 and at first was disappointed there was no counter (:-P ) but became so addicted to Sinclair computers that I could find any program, game, level , screen$, BASIC and even a code block with just variables just by listening to part of the loading noise. :-P Those days are gone. :-(

maybe dididums and a few more had em, but obv. due to the card nature of how many survived.

I'm online now. You can find me in the #zx channel which hasn't got a password.
Ok, I'll enable private messages here. Just this once. :)
