Zombi - Ubi Soft +3 version

edited April 2012 in MIA/STP/SDP
D'oh! Close but no cigar.
Did someone on here win this on eBay about 2 mins ago?
I was hoping to nab it but just missed out. It's about the only game I'm still actively trying to get a copy of, just so I can scan it all!

Would be nice if we could preserve the +3 disc as well (obviously!) so hopefully someone with deeper pockets than me got it.

Hmm, more than 20?, a bit expensive. I was going to bid but didnt do it in the end.
Anyways I hope it was won by someone from WoS.

    It wasn't me, sorry.

Me neither :-(. Last time I spotted it, I was beaten good and proper, fair and square:-o .
It probably would go for a tidy sum though as it's only been on a few times that I've seen.
I was gonna look on eBay over the week end too.
Most of the disks are going for silly prices at the moment. Not sure why ?, maybe sale and demand ?

Just gotta keep our eyes peeled if one turns up again, but I probably won't have the capital to win anyway.

Yes, it was a pity not getting this game.
I have the tape version, with box and all, unfortunately I live in Germany and the game is at my parents house in Spain.
Would be also nice to check if this +3 version has any enhancement...

    Wasn't me either.

I've been bidding on a fair few disks recently. I don't think there's anything that's not been preserved already, but if there is... I have a number of 3" drives, including an Amstrad FDD1 and will be hooking one up to a PC soon (will need to do some write-backs) and I'd only be too happy to scan in any disks I have/get in the future.

I've put a "wanted" up for +3 disks in the appropriate area of the forum too ... I don't have a huge buget at all, but I'm trying to build my collection of real disks back up (a few that I used to own were left in the UK when I emigrated and weren't anywhere I could find when I visited in 2010).

You guys have the Sinclair P16 4 disk set, Paperboy 2 and Hewson 4 Smash Hits I assume? (I couldn't see them on TZX vault)

Yes, I keep watching many +3 disks, but some are like ?20~?25 for ones that were about ?5 a few years ago. Not sure why they are that price. Okay so some like Zombi are probably worth it, but many probably aren't. I also have many of the common ones.

Thanks for bringing Four Crash Smashes to my attention. I'm not sure why it isn't on the Vault/WoS, or why I've not submitted it. I have two separate dumps of this, so should be able to resolve it. It uses the Speedlock 1988 disk scheme.

I think I have various dumps of the P16 compilation, but some may have had sector errors and I may not have a clean dump of it.

Also, will all +3 disks, I'm also dumping them with my Kryoflux for the SPS team.
On top of that, it may be possible to use KF and a STREAM file to convert to EDSK
using Samdisk. I can't remember if I sent Simon the examples ?

    Cheers

OK well I have two copies of the sinclair disk pack, so let me know if you want me to dump them - as far as I've found they work OK.

    What about Paperboy 2?

There were some demos around for making dumps with SamDisk, so I'll check those before making any dumps.

Finally, if you have any doubles you want to get rid of, let me know (I've got several copies of the Amstrad disk that came with the +3, and I've got doubles of Chase HQ but that's about all the dupes I have)

    Cheers,

I got your samples (thanks!), but haven't finished the decoding yet. For now you'll still have to go via IPF, which comes with the guarantee that the dump has been validated, of course :)
