Are we even allowed to talk about sites that are used for illegal downloading? I did it once and got a row off one of the mods (can't remember who).
Its not an illegal site, torrenting isnt, legal stuff on there too

    Public Domain or Abandonware?
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

This is a discussion about web censorship - some of the time.

Just 2 weeks ago I commented extensively about how the phonographic industry is actively trying to shutdown the entire Internet (really!) since it's a threat to their business. The posts about this subject start here.

Of course it won't be just TPB. After a precedent is well established, it should be quite easy to extend it to almost everything else.

I'm glad Martijn (and others) make so much effort trying to obtain legal permission for hosted files. This should reduce the chance that WoS will be ever blocked. But other Speccy related sites are not in the same position...

WoS uses the wrong "default" though iyswim.

This is the reason I wrote "reduce" instead of "eliminate".

IMHO there's a reasonable chance that WoS will be eventually forced to eliminate most of its archive, just keeping the files that have written permission...
