AudioSpectrum covertapes year of release

edited May 2012 in Infoseek database
I was doing a little research and found that in all the scans of the inlays available for these tapes, it reads: "A?o I", which means that, if Issue 2 and 3 are listed as from 1987, the rest should be also listed in the same year, as the inlay specifies that it is the same year...or would they change also the year if for example one of the covertapes was released in 1988 but the magazine still hadnt reached 2 year of publication?

Juan Pablo, if you read me here, your help is welcome ;)

    Hi Ivan,

Frankly, I am uncertain about the meaning of "A?o I" here. In the case of MicroHobby, the year counter was certainly increased on New Year's Day (e.g. MicroHobby issue 09 was dated as "A?o II", see: http://microhobby.speccy.cz/mhf/009/MH009_03.jpg) but I don't know if this is a rule for all Spanish magazines.

On the other hand, I haven't found any evidence about issues 02 and 03 being published in 1987 (apart from the information displayed by Infoseek, I mean). Of course I'm not saying that this is incorrect - I guess that the information must have come from somewhere, but I have been unable to find the original source of information.

    Hi,

    I answer myself...

I see that the program "Quinielas" in Audio Spectrum 3 shows 1987 as the year of development in the REM statement at line 10. This program was also released in Video Spectrum 3, but then the year shown at that statement was 1984 (which also was the year of release of the magazine).

So it seems quite likely that Audio Spectrum 3 was released in 1987 (or later).

    Hi,

I found that Video Spectrum (which was also published by GEASA) used "A?o I" for denoting 1984, while "A?o II" for denoting 1985, so yes, I think you're right, Iv?n.

However, I also noticed that the covertape for Video Spectrum issue 05 is still labelled as "A?o I". This is bizarre, since the D.L. code of this covertape is M-1046-1985 and the text in VideoSpectrum issue 04, page 03 (http://microhobby.speccy.cz/150504/scannerwebs/videospectrum/04/03.jpg) also suggests that issue 04 was the last issue of 1984. That looks like a misprint, anyway.

    Hmm nice findings, Juan Pablo.

I was wondering that also it will be useful to check all the BASIC listings from the games to get more clues.

Pity that there are 2 issues still MIA...
