Oh, I remember that. I used to listen to the entire album over and over again in the mid 80s, just sublime really.

Now listening to I'm In The Mood For Dancing by Nolan Sisters and Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive. Next up: Saturday Night Fever OST.

HAHA, nope. My mom used to drag me and my aunt into Cliff Richard concerts and she'd play Cliff Richard and Doctor Hook records very often (much to my dad's delight I tell you haha). I guess those childhood memories have affected me somehow.

I like Hank Marvin (i even have some of his albums) but Cliff Richard - sorry but no.

big l - lifestyles of the poor and dangerous (again)
and Goldie - inner city life remixes (from a charity shop for ?2)

not sure which remixes are on that but I love the Inner City remix by nookie, and can't stand the housey one by 'rabbit on the moon'!

goldie only likes authorised remixes, some french producer called Redeyes remixed inner city life without permision and started playing it out, goldie chucked him down a flight of stairs!

    Gong (Pierre Moerlens gong)
This is one of the reasons why I enjoy reading these kind of threads, there's so much inspiration and new worlds to discover. Not sure I ever l heard of Pierre Moerlen?s Gong - Ard Na Greine before, but it sounds fantastic! Thanks for sharing, mel. :)

Now listening to Air by Andreas Vollenweider. It always makes me in good mood. :)

yeah its good to share :)
i had about 25 gong and related albums back in the day on vinyl, so ingulged myself on their various incarnations

whether its the classic 69 on period, their pierre moerlen jazz stuff when daevid allen et al were doing solo stuff, the more female lead mother gong stuff or even there late 80s, early 90s "house music" incarnation.
even daevid allens solo stuff veers all over the place lol, he even indulged in new york punk stuff in the early 80s lol

ive seen em live a few times too, never pierre loerlens gong :( just gong, gongmaison and another incarnation at glastonbury (magic brother mystic sister?)

Well, I like jazz (particularly fusion and funk), so will try to find some of the jazzier stuff on youtube later on. Links are welcome. :)

Incidentally, I listened to a jazz album called Sky Islands by Caldera from 1977 earlier today. Do you know the artist and album? It's one of my fave albums.

lol fair enough. not being a house fan I didn't really like the one I heard. it's one of the few genres I just can't get into, along with reggae, trance and anything that falls under the dreaded tag "world music"
