I've had a quick look at the Devil May Cry HD Collection on the Xbox360. I've only started the first game and not looked at the other two yet, but it's been a bit of a mixed bag so far.

First of all, it's very dark to look at. So much so that i needed to turn the brightness up on my telly slightly, but that gave the colours a kind of washed out look. Also, the FMV is 4:3, but the game is full screen, so you really notice when a cut scene has kicked in.

It's also alot harder than I remember! Although I've not died many times so far, I am finding it very hard going. The bad guys seem to be causing more damage than I remember.m It's also surprising how little of this game I remember, but how quick it comes back to me as I play. Having said that, I've just beat a boss (the demon thing that comes out of the mirror) that I have no memory of, but I remembered that something came out of the mirror as soon as I entered the room.

I'm looking forward to playing through this one again, then getting stuck into 2 and 3. I did start playing the second one on it's release, but I can't remember why I stopped and I've only played the 3rd one on the PC and I just couldn't get used to the controls andcouldn't seem to get them set up properly, so I've not played it outside of the first room

It was worth picking up though, even if I did have to go online to buy it as it's not appeared in any game shops I've been in.

I recently started the second one, and found it to be a bit poop in comparison to the first one....it just uses really odd camera angles and is a lot duller looking than 1 as well...not a big fan of it at all...

Back to Minecraft, I had a brief visit from Mile this afternoon whilst I was stuck down a mineshaft....He made a little house (which took me quite a while to find) and left a sign at mine saying he'd visited, but he popped off again just as I was coming to see what he was up to! :D

So I decided to build a wooden shack in the middle of nowhere, and built probably the most intricate thing I've done so far...It had lovely little windows, stairs andladders, a lovely garden with lots of flowers and an odd musical block that played notes when you smacked it with a stick....

But then my mum wanted to watch Bargain Hunt, so I saved it and quit out...or at least tried to, but then the Xbox crashed and when I went back in, it hadn't saved the last hour or so's work (the entire hut).... :(

So I would recommend saving often if you're building stuff, just in case something similar happens to you......

he he yeah, i didn't want to build it too close in case you had things planned for your view.

interestingly, when i spawned i was given a map, it showed your location relative to mine, i could see your tag, but it was very small, so they look like they shrink the farther away you get.

your world is quiet water logged compared to mine, it was all mountains and bodies of water. its takes me a while to get to the water from my spawn point and not in the level of yours. and i noticed that you were making some sort of dam/harbour which looked awesome.

just been checking the minecraft site, there is an update on the way, not sure when though, it will introduce 'pistons' and sort the 'clay' block problem, which is they are not appearing as much as they should.

I'm having trouble finding iron blocks, I've managed to find one so far.

I'm probably just not looking in the right places though, I'm gonna head back to that cave I found later and see what's in there...

Does anybody here play minecraft on the PC?

I have played multi-player before over a LAN though with my wife and brother-in-law. It was really fun. All of this discussion makes me eager to play again. Shame I'm at work.

    Resi-5 again.

Think I'm at the bit that pissed Vampyre off, there's no chainsaw geezers, but there is two 8 foot tall Majini Chief types with tribal masks on and big huge ceremonial style clubs. They take lot of beating, and they keep killing the useless bitch. I've had to confiscate any useless weapons from her, and give her something with a bit more punch. It's annoying cos' of their masks you can't really headshot them so you have to keep kneecapping them and then punching them.

Although I will say it is quite funny watching Sheva try to fight someone twice her size with a stun rod :D
    Every night is curry night!

I should be playing Football Manager 2012 right now.....but my laptop refuses to recognise the disc

I then thought I'd check out an old version off abandonware...what is that by the way?? but it doesn't like my version of Windows

All in all disaster has struck :(

they are quite common, dig a bit further down, they are usually in clusters of about 4-5.

those caves are great as a lot of the minerals are exposed, so getting the goodies is a lot easier.

The best weapon I've found against those guys is either the Hydra (unlockable after upgrading the Ithica) or Sheva's bow (unlockable after upgrading the S70 I think). I dunno if Sheva uses the bow automatically herself as I tend to play as Sheva when I want the damage of the bow.

And you're past the last of the chainsaw guys but something else will appear in 5-2 that's just as annoying :D
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

its like you are having the best birthday party every, with clowns, lots of cake, fireworks, but non of your freinds turn up. :-P

i do like the idea of the creative mode though, it would save on having to mine everything. ;)

Yep, spot on - stumbled across another small cave full of stone, dug deeper and started finding iron, like you say in clusters of 4-5. I'll make a start on some armour soon and then turn peaceful mode off again. I am really enjoying peaceful mode though, working away, every now and then a pig or a cow pops over to say hello (well, "moo"). I've managed to get my tower pretty high up now too, and it's quite nice to see the sunset and the moon rising.

And it rained. My god did it rain?! With thunder too! I didn't realise there were weather effects...

I've played this one briefly before...If I remember correctly I struggled with the viewpoint for some reason..Nice quirky little game though!

Yeah...I was tunneling underground and heard all this sloshing...thought I was about to find a waterfall, but instead found a path to outside where it was lashing it down with rain! :D

I found a weird little secret cave in the mountain right beside my house...it had some moss-covered stone, a little chest full of hard-to-find stuff, and something else I hadn't seen before but had to rid of sharpish! I won't say what exactly in case I spoil the discovery for someone....

I also dabbled in a spot of farming and have discovered a source of electricity! I don't know if they cover that in the tutorial, 'coz I only played the first part of that, but I might go and see if it does so to avoid blowing myself up or suchlike...

Heading back to my flat for a few days, but I'm looking forward to Mincraft-tourists at the weekend, and hopefully I can visit you lot's digs as well!?!

Cool! I really should leave all the building for a while and just go explore for a while - I've not explored at all so far, just to find more stone for my tower. I mined heaps upon heaps of stone before switching off last night, so I can have a rest from that for a wee while methinks.

I need to start gardening too. I've got quite a few saplings to plant, I'm hoping I can replace the trees I chopped down near my tower. And then once they've grown, I'll collect more saplings, plant them, etc. Ah, the cycle of life...

EDIT: Good Lord! Just seen reviews for Max Payne 3 - it looks fantastic! Guess I'll be playing that on Friday instead of Minecraft then...

i spent ages building a nice visitor centre for people popping in, in minecraft, but now with the roof on, you spawn on top of it instead of inside it.

If it's like the PC version you can change your spawn point by building a bed and sleeping in it.

Minecraft. Thought I'd wander off and explore last night, took a glance at the map - I'd only discovered a tiny bit of it, there's *loads* I hadn't uncovered yet! So off I went, digging away, fell into a waterfall and got washed to the bottom with no way out other than to dig my way back up. Luckily I actually remembered to take lots of torches this time, still took bloody ages to get back to the surface though!

Found lots of coal and iron while I was at it, and lots of sugar cane on my way back home. Still no sign of that redstone stuff though, but I spent more time digging up and out than deeper down, so I'll have another look in that spot when I get on there later.

My tower is massive now though, coming along nicely. Still quite a way to go before I reach the clouds, and each floor is now taking tons of stone to build (I'm making each floor bigger than the last). You can see it for miles now, which is quite handy whilst out exploring.

Fifa 2012... and I hate the new defence System... last year game was fun and near perfect (it reminded me all that PES had lost, and that is why I bought FIFA this year...)

and why do football games have so many buttons? I feel like I don't have enough fingers to play them... it's a basic rule of gamming: once it's not fun or practical, it's not that good (or did I suddenly turn to old to play games?)

Those were the days, Match Day using 'only' O P Q A - SPC, and the same (or even more) fun!

Oooh, you made a mistake not getting PES this time around. 2012 blows FIFA 12 out of the water (IMO of course) and quite a few mates who converted to FIFA have gone back. It just feels more fun than the simulation-heavy route FIFA's gone.

    I'm still playing '09

    I've only played '03, '04, '09, '11 and Champions League 2006/7.

Loved '03 for the arcadeyness of it. '04 was great but relied to heavy on the management mode. Can't see me ever going above Amateur on '09 though as it plays completely different.

Not too keen on the player leveling in '11. There's too much emphasis on difficulty levels for me so I only played a mate's copy of it. Haven't bothered with '12 as I thought that'd be more of the same.

dam... i've been playing PES (ISS) since 1997, 2011 was the first year I didn't buy it, because in the past 4 or 5 years the game really went downhill...
