Well, that took some guts! He mentioned training. How can you train for that? Such a small landing area too, he was lucky a big gust of wind didn't blow him wildly off course :)

I vaguely remember a programme called something like You Must Be Joking, or something like that, and it had some of the cast from the first series of Game For a Laugh on it? And Barry Sheene too.

The panel would have to guess on the outcome of pre-recorded stunts etc?

Anyway, some bloke kept launching himself from a low flying aeroplane over a runway in a barrel or something, and anyway, they took several different shots of it, and the last one killed him?

    I think? Anyone?

Just cheese... on the pavement. :D

But still, I bow down humbly to a guy who actually pulls this off and avoids a Darwin... 8)

"A stuntman is thought to have become the first person to jump out of a helicopter and land safely without deploying a parachute."

Rubbish. I remember an edition of "How Do They Do That?" where Des Lynam did exactly that.

Admittedly the helicopter was hovering two feet above the ground at the time...

    yeah ok, its brave, but

'Gary Connery in world's first skydive without parachute'

'He was fitted with a parachute for the jump,'

    :p

he would be hard if he didn't have that safety feature, also without that wingsuit.

now this guy was brave, he even got a certificate from the nazi's of his accomplishment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Alkemade ;)
