Got a date on thursday!
I've been off the site for a while, decided to have a break but now i'm back.
I've recently been chatting a girl online via a dating website, someone at work recomended i try it and i'm now meeting someone on thursday (and no, she's not Thai!) for a coffee.
The thing is, ive not been on a date for a while now (2006 tbh) and i'm seriously out of practice. When we meet, do shake her hand? Hug her or just say hiya? Or do i simply slap it out and say 'get yer gums round that!'
Been talking online with her for 3 weeks and i asked her last week to meet for a coffee in Glasgow and she said that was fine, (once she sorted out childcare) i'll be nervous as hell:smile:
Wish me luck! I'm going to seriously need it!

dont shake her hand.
just say hello, dont start grabbing for her.
The latter sounds best, lol
Oh dear, Glasgow, ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!
I'm sure you will be ok, :)
yeah, don't shake her hand if like you say you've been out of the dating game since 2006 thats a good 6yrs your right arm has been at work..... you'll likely yank her arm from its socket.... seriousley, good luck, oh there's nothing wrong with glasgow great place to meet and take the option further if coffee goes well!

Just say hi and be yourself.

Oh yeah, good luck.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

I know a nice cafe in Glasgow we've agreed to meet at. I'll let you all know how it goes!
NOT a 'Glasgow kiss' though.
can't possibly go any worse than my one "cyber date" when I was at uni. she was half way through a bottle of vodka when I arrived. by the end she was crying!
using an old picture were you. :p
Maybe i should just bang her and be done with it!
Good luck matey, not that you'll need it.
Not that I'm in a position to give advice but I remember on my last date I was first to arrive, & forgot to bring anything with me to stop me fretting. So maybe keep a notebook or a book just in case?
Good lord! She sounds like a keeper
not sure abotu the flowers, might come off a little desperate, and she'd have to do something with them while you are having coffee.
only met someone for a coffee once, usually its been in bars, on my way to the date, the bottom of my shoe fell off. when i got there i apologised and said we needed to go and buy me some shoes, its was quite funny going shoe shopping with a stranger, really broke the ice. (i left my busted shoes at her house when i left in the morning)
Could backfire though; a couple of months down the line, your new girlfriend tries to call you but finds your phone switched off, assumes you're with another date and goes ape! ;)
ha ha true. :-D
Feel free to throw in a "Shazzam!" when you do it too.
Rule 16:- There are NO girls on the internet.
Are you saying she's a guy? yikes!
not only that but a she was lying about the child minder.
to be honest it was nice to meet someone who was polite for a change. Sadly there are a lot out there who aren't and worse can't tell the time, had too many of them.
(and no I didn't mention my collection of scrabbles / chequered flags.. if I did they are normally like putty...lol)
;)
Remember, this forum has never existed!
Wait a minute......your not meeting your date in Glasgow Central Station? ulp!
*clap clap clap*
prolly infested with scary mary's with excessive bingo wings.. no ?
(I'm no oil painting myself)
*fingers crossed*
Good luck. Not that you'll need it, you'll be fine.
