Most of what he wrote for the spectrum is still some of the best titles and the arcade ports he did are better than the arcade versions.

rip Joffa - king of the spectrum

    Oh aye RiP Jof.

My fav game has to be Hypersports. Spent lots of time on that. Did it come out in the summer? Cos thinking of the name just brings back good memories of hot weather!

just had a little bash on hypersports. 215715 if anyone fancies a challenge (probably half what I used to get way back when). managed to get a 9.99 on the jump/horse/summersault event though :) best swimming time 26.22

Yep, my fave is either Hypersports or Mikie.

    I've never played Cobra.

I'm still sad and mad about Jof's passing. He confided with me, told me about his medical problems and even for advice on whether to have the operation that he eventually had. It should've been a succesful operation, all's well that ends well and all that...

I get more mad than sad about it...

Its the only time an online friendship has really ment something in real life.

    RIP Joffa.

I agree with Hyper Active being a great game - I'll give it another blast in a bit.

    RIP Joffa.

Made more tragic by the fact that Joffa was clearly enjoying himself in life, what with all the tom foolery and clowning he did on the forums. He deserved better.

You know, I've never really thought of it like that before, but yes, it could well be. It's certainly up there with the likes of Chase HQ...

Yup, deffo one of the best. I've never really thought all that hard about the all time best Speccy arcade conversions. Jof would certainly have a shout with 3 of them (Mikie, Green Beret and Hypersports, I also really liked Terra Cresta), Keith Burkhill (Bombjack, Commando, Ghosts 'N Goblins and Space Harrier (I like it)), and most definitely Chase HQ.

As per usual, didn't get too far on Cobra. Still love it though. Now to play Hypersports on a real Speecy on the big tv! :)
