Grrr property improvement programmes...
Gnggh. I'm in the break room at work, tv on in the background, one of those awful property development programmes is on and this woman has a room in her house with a really beautiful grand piano... and admits it's just there for show and no one plays it. Gnnngnghghghghghghnnn!
Seeing a wasted piano (and a really nice looking one) really grinds my gears. Almost as much as the moronic property programme it's featured in...

A former commodore 64 owner obviously.
The wifes uncle can play it though, and usually does to entertain all the little un's when there's loads of people coming over to the house. I'm not sure what's more cringeworthy though, a wasted piano, or a hippy playing a piano for a bunch of kids?
I too hate those day time property programs starring middle class oiks obsessed with property prices and who have a materialistic view on life. Yet the general audience would be those on the dole.
Jemima and Hugo have a budget of 500 thousand pounds, and are looking for a cozy nook in north London. Jemima owns a successful chain of art galleries and enjoys hosting wine tasting evenings whilst Hugo is an investment banker and venture capitalist. The program usually ends with the couple spending 'a little more than they had originally planned' 250 thousand more'.
The other ones that do my head in are the middle class coupled that go to the South of France to do up some dilapidated barn in the middle of nowhere that will eventually result in them comming back due to boredom once the work an is done and bragging rights are exhausted.
At one time every house had a piano and always someone who could at least play "a bit". It used to be the central piece of furniture, now it's the TV.
If you play computer games, you will be used to hand co-ordination, so it will be easy for you. Just takes practice, but again you persevere with computer games don't you?
jus sayin'
You could invite your redneck neighbour round and he could join in and play his banjo:grin:
...and no I'm not posting that clip "EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" :D
"Liz, your boyfriend is outside, shall I call security?"
"Uh, why?"
"He's carrying a banjo. . ."
HEY!!!! I own a banjo
Steinway D Grand / Yamaha C7 Grand /Steinway K Upright /
Steinway Vertegrand "Mrs. Mills" piano / Challen studio piano /
Bosendorfer 290 Imperial Grand / Bechstein D 280 Grand;
Steingraeber und Soehne Vintage Upright 130 + the Concert Grand D
and a few custom ones... (don't get me started on rhodes / synth emulations :D )
all as software, don't have an 88 keyboard though.. I get on ok enough with 61.
you can get fake pianos (just the box).. basically that hide the laptop / midi controller.. they use them on tv
parents house , they had a piano (upright) , that was never tuned or played.. but this was long before technology did a decent job
?100ish vs.. ?30k+ .. no problem :)
if people have the money and want to spend it.. their business..
with regard to houses, because of some peoples BIG greed it has royally messed up housing prices.. there is a couple that own basically half a town in the uk.. that shouldn't be allowed. a friend owned 10 houses, and blagged building grants for loads of them.. but in reality it's a business to him... he'd get insider knowledge of stuff to buy dirt cheap.. estate agents huh ? not spoken to him in years.lol
there was a show on recently secret history of our streets http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01jt9zh
basically showed how the prices are f'd up because of bankers etc.. portland road , near me.. one end is council estate.. other end is ?3m+ houses
